Actual picture of me today 🤣 . . Oh man, I messed up this morning. I found out some bad news and went running into the arms of my old-comforter—food. . I felt better. For a few minutes. “My face is going to break your camera.” I think this is the worst thing I’ve ever heard a woman say to me right before I take her photo. First of all, that’s physically impossible (unless you have Harry Potter powers that I don’t know about and then we need to have a different conversation entirely). Secondly, no one’s face is so hideous that it’s capable of breaking machinery. HOW can you say that about yourself? Heed this right now: Would you say that to a loved one? Would you go to your sister, mom, cousin, or daughter and tell her that she’s SO ugly that if you were to take a picture, it would break the camera? Could you imagine? Does that not hurt you when you imagine it? That’s what you’re doing to yourself. You’re telling yourself, me and everyone around you that you’re not worthy of having your picture taken, that you’re not good enough, that you’re ugly, that you aren’t photogenic, that you are this hideous-looking thing and these are all LIES. I often ask myself: will I ever be good enough? I have always preached body positivity and self confidence, yet do I (accidentally) hypocritically do the opposite? What People don't see, behind closed doors, is that I am not in a constant state of self recovery and happiness. I'm hiding, figuratively, afraid to show myself to people. Society has built me to be embarrassed to be me because I do not have the perfect body or personality. I preach love one day and the next beg myself to lose ten pounds. And I'm fed up with it at this point. I've always tried to be the perfect size that society has wanted me to be. I used to ask myself, why can't I be perfect? And you know what, no one will ever be perfect. We all have a flaws and they are part of what makes us uniquely beautiful. Everyone has a different definition of perfect, just like everyone has a different definition of the perfect guy/girl. I have to stop being so obsessed with being perfect and instead be in love with the person I am now. It is normal to have good and bad days, it is normal to struggle one day and it is normal to want to improve. But it is not healthy to tear yourself down. This transformation Tuesday is a bit different than some of my other ones. . . On one side you have what I typically look like FIRST THING in the morning. The other side I took at the END of the night after my belly has been filled with lots of food. It was even all healthy foods that day too! . . I shared on insta-stories today that I love having my dishwasher unloaded in the morning so I can just put my dishes right in, instead of placing them in the sink and then in the dishwasher later. Real Talk.... This past week I have been extremely anxious and highly strung.. I feel I have taken to much on my plate at once while giving up coffee ☕️ ( which hasn’t helped the situation ) 😳😂...I have decided to give myself a little break from the gym and my training program.. I’ll just do light workouts and beach walks. When your body is anxious and stressed it can cause a lot of internal issues if not managed.. Exciting news is im allowed to reintroduce coffee into my eating plan... Woohooo.. I went 10 days without which I’m super proud about.. Enjoy the process. Stop being so hard on yourself “Work out hard all the time, I eat well, but like I just can’t see the changes” “I know iv lost weight but I still feel fat” Some of the quotes I get on the regular. Even when they have done exceptionally well and lost loads or changed shape in a positive way towards there goals. In my gym even the girl or guy in the “best shape iv ever seen” hate parts of themselves and are permanently striving for perfection (what even is that?) It’s very rarely anyone is ever truly happy with them selves in there own skin. This can stem into eating disorders. It’s a touchy subject. Iv been there. It wasn’t a good time. These days with so many people striving for insta model perfection they don’t recognise the progress they have made never mind enjoy the success in each stage of the training. Trust the process it will happen for you! Don’t expect perfect results ever time. Nothing is completely perfect.
