Deliciously good Parma Ham Wrapped Cod with Mediterranean Vegetables. A delightfully simple, gluten & dairy free dish, packed full of goodness, thatโ€™s so easy to prepare. The recipe is available at sainsburysmagazine.co.uk and hereโ€™s a summary: Serves 2 (easily doubled)- Preheat your oven to 180c fan. Place 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil, the juice of 1 lemon, 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar, 1 crushed garlic clove & 10 basil leaves in a blender and whizz to make a dressing. Put 15 cherry tomatoes on the vine, 1 courgette, halved & sliced, 2 red peppers, deseeded & chopped & 1 red onion, cut into wedges into a large roasting tin. Pour the dressing over and toss everything together. Season well & roast for 25-30 mins. Meanwhile, spread 2 cod loins with 2 tsp pesto. Top with a basil leaf and wrap each in 2 slices of Parma ham. Boil 8 baby potatoes for 10 mins until just tender. Drain & slice in half. Add the potatoes to the roasting tin and toss in the dressing. Place the cod on top, spooning over some of the juices from the tin, and return to the oven for 15 mins or until cooked through. Scatter over fresh basil leaves to serve. As I have previously mentioned, I love a good katsu curry ๐Ÿ›. @harajukukitchen definitely met my expectations on that! We shared this amazing pork tonkatsu, which was accompanied by a delicious miso soup ๐Ÿœ, as well as spider rolls and tiger prawn tempura ๐Ÿค. @harajukukitchen is a Japanese bistro ๐Ÿฅ which has been awarded with the title of best restaurant in Scotland at the Chopsticks Awards ๐Ÿฅข. I'm yet to find a burger in Edinburgh that beats @breadmeatsbread. I went for the Lothian Wolf this time which is the Edinburgh branches signature burger - American cheese, crispy bacon, pulled pork in BBQ sauce, crispy fried onions and nduja with sriracha mayo. . As with all their burgers, a solid choice. The chips (plain skin-on fries) were a bit of a let down though - will have to upgrade to the buffalo fries or sweet potato fries next time. ๐Ÿ” ๐ŸŸ at Bread Meats Bread Edinburgh

If you are heading to @edinburghcbf this weekend, you are in for a treat! โ–ซ๏ธ Your ยฃ45 ticket includes all your beers and your glass to take home. With so many brewers showcasing, you are seriously spoilt for choice. Some of my favourites included Milk Round Pale Ale from @sixdnorthedn and Australian Byron Bay based @stoneandwood Pacific Ale. I loved every beer I tried from @curiousbrewing too, all served out of their Landrover driven up from Kent! As well as closer to home campions @pilotbeeruk and @tempestbrewingco โ–ซ๏ธ I was also super impressed with non-alcoholic beer options from @bigdropbrewco - Theyโ€™ve totally mastered getting all the correct flavours into your drink so that itโ€™s undoubtedly beer, just minus the alcohol. So refreshing and delicious! Something Iโ€™d urge you all to look out for! โ–ซ๏ธ If beers not your thing, the @chapeldown English wine (from the guys of Curious Brewing) are serving up some stunning sparkling options! The guys from @fiercebeer also have a fantastic citrus or raspberry Gin options, a strong serve as well! ๐Ÿ˜† โ–ซ๏ธ When you get the munchies, thereโ€™s also food options! I was slightly disappointed with the lack of choice for veggies... but @harajukukitchen saved the day with their always brilliant vegan gyoza and noodle combo! I would have loved to see a pizza option- maybe something for next years! โ–ซ๏ธ As a newbie beer drinker, it was fantastic to get to try so many different types and flavours - a great way to find out what your preferences are! | Can you drink alcohol and still lose weight? | ๐Ÿน - Alcohol itself isn't likely to contribute to weight gain โœ… - In fact, our body's energy expenditure actually increases somewhat in parallel with the amount of energy consumed via alcohol ๐Ÿ“š - Why is this? Had such a fun night at the launch of the annual @edinburghcbf sampling the wares of @fiercebeer @chapeldown @curiousbrewing and I had to try @tempestbrewingco being a local and all that - amongst others ๐Ÿป I can always rely on @harajukukitchen for yummy noods and gyoza, the others on offer were Pitt stalwart @thebuffalotruck @aizle_edinburgh 's foray into street food (it looks absolutely delicious but wasn't dairy or egg free ๐Ÿ˜ญ) and everyone was chowing down on the halloumi fries from @the_shawarma_shack.food plus @stooge_burger was there. Fellow foodies (and the soon to be formed plus ones Instagram) @ourgaykitchen @myfoodietales and @edinburghfoodgirl providing the loveliest company for the evening โค๏ธ I was lucky to be given a press ticket - they're expensive at ยฃ45 but actually I would pay it. Really cool atmosphere, music from @djyodauk , no queuing for anything, so.many.beers. on offer plus there were gins, sparkling wine and ciders. Wonderfully good Blackberry & Apple Flapjacks. A fantastic snack, packed full of energy & fruity goodness. This simple, recipe (easily adapted to remove the dairy) is available at btcworkshops.co.uk & hereโ€™s a summary: Makes 16 squares. Preheat your oven to 160c fan. Grease & line a 20cm square cake/brownie tin. Melt 120g dairy free spread (or butter if preferred) with 80g Demerara sugar & 2 tbsp golden syrup in a small saucepan. In a large bowl mix 125g porridge oats, 125g jumbo rolled oats, 1 tsp cinnamon & 1 Bramley apple, peeled & grated. Pour the butter mixture over and stir to mix well. Press half the mixture into the base of the tin and press down well. Mash 250g blackberries with a fork and spread over the flapjack base. Top with the rest of the oat mixture & bake for 30-40 mins until golden. Leave to cool completely in the tin before slicing into squares. When the suns out a popular spot is definitely going to be @coldtownhouse with their rooftop terrace with views of the castle ๐Ÿฐโ˜บ๏ธ These guys brew their own beer and even use it in their pizzas!
