Anyone who thinks of diets they probably have negative thoughts..😩🤯😬😡 . . The stress of starting them up and changing everything you eat to something bland tasteless and go into starvation mode. The thing is, it doesn’t have to be like this at all! I work as an online nutritionist to get you eating foods you like and still see results, this just has to be the correct method to get you there. I have had clients consume wine on weekends, eat pizza on a Friday, and have chocolate cake and still get results each week! Does this mean we can just eat junk and drink alcohol every day and just count calories? Not at all! It’s called flexibility and we need to learn as individuals to have things in moderation! The main reason diets fail is nothing to do with the diet your on at the time, but what you do after you have been on your diet! Detox diet, then binging on whatever springs to mind sound familiar? I coach my clients and give them methods on the best ways to suit their lifestyle so they can indulge still! Chippy tea on a Friday? Meal out with friends? Sunday dinner at your mums? Added two boiled eggs to my breakfast (smoothie + piece of fruit) and wow I was feeling full for so much longer! I'm gonna keep this up! . Nachos cooked by hubby for dinner. Another long day at work almost meant another night of wings. When I stopped to get the ranch at the local store (they make it in-house) they were out! 🤯 So, I switched it up and did this spinach artichoke stuffed chicken with a mixed green salad. It turned out yummy! I used grilled artichokes from @traderjoes and a mix of baby spinach and kale. Next time I may add a bit of bacon to the stuffing mix, but nonetheless I will make this again! Fuel for the busy busy👦was leftovers and some protein. . . INGREDIENTS:⠀ 10 wafer cones⠀ 2 2/3 cups whole hazelnuts⠀ 4 cups heavy cream⠀ 3 1/2 cups milk chocolate, chopped⠀ 2 1/2 cups dark chocolate, chopped⠀ ⠀ COATING:⠀ 3 1/3 cups milk chocolate⠀ 1 1/3 cups hazelnuts, roasted and chopped⠀ ⠀ STEPS:⠀ Preheat oven to 350 degrees.⠀ Dip the wafer cones lightly in water and place onto a large baking sheet. Bake in the oven for 2 to 3 minutes, until the cones start to wilt. Remove from the oven and carefully unwrap, then push into your pudding bowls/hemisphere molds, overlapping the cones to cover the sides and bottom of the bowls.⠀ Place back into the oven for 5 minutes to re-crisp, then remove and allow to cool.⠀ Make the filling: On a baking sheet, add the whole hazelnuts and place in oven. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until the nuts are fragrant.⠀ In a bowl, add all but a handful of hazelnuts and pour the heavy cream on top. Allow the hazelnuts to steep in the cream for at least 30 minutes.⠀ In a large bowl, add the milk and dark chocolate. Next, heat the cream until just boiling. Strain the cream through a fine sieve into the chocolate bowl and allow to sit for 3 minutes. You can throw away the hazelnuts from the sieve.⠀ Whisk the chocolate and cream together, then divide the ganache between the 2 wafer shells. Leave to cool for at least 4 hours in the fridge.⠀ When cool, with a melon baller, scoop out a small hole in the center of the chocolate in 1 of the halves.⠀ Temper the chocolate for the coating and pour equally over each half, then cover with chopped hazelnuts. Using the back of a spoon, gently mix the chocolate and hazelnuts together then set both halves aside to cool.⠀ When cool, fill the hole you made with the reserved hazelnuts and place the other half on top to sandwich the 2 halves together. Daydreaming of this incredible & chilly Canadian lunch spot ❄️ while currently melting in this Aus summer heat☀️ 🌱Legumes were one of my best friends whilst road tripping around Canada’s west. They’re extremely cheap (as low as 80cents per can), nutritionally dense and very versatile! 🌱They’re still a huge staple in my day to day diet at home making for a very cost effective protein source. 🌱They’re high in B vitamins, low in saturated fat, contain important minerals such as iron & calcium and also provide a good slow releasing carbohydrate source. 🌱Next time you’re at the shops, grab some black beans or lentils or chickpeas or whatever you’re feeling and give them a go! Hey! 👋🏻 I hope everyone is having a great week! I’m not going to lie these last few days I’ve been on a struggle bus 🚌 Feeling super tired, and honestly lacking motivation. I’m currently working on adjusting my nutrition and incorporating more wholesome healthy foods because I fell off the wagon for a while. I never want to get to a point where I am stressed and overthinking every little thing when it comes down to fitness and healthy lifestyle choices. I want to FEEL and LOOK happy. I want to like what I see in the mirror. I want to enjoy some not so healthy foods here and there. I want to be motivated and enjoy working out. — So I am working on finding that again this week. Finding my drive. My passion. I’ve had it so I know it’s in there. Don’t beat yourself up if you’re in the same shoes as me right now. The winter weather can make you depressed, tired and unmotivated. But I am not giving up. I will keep going and if I need a few rest days in a row I’m going to take them because this lifestyle is for me. Dreaming of warm weather with this spicy meal. Yum! Cajun Shrimp 🦐 and Sausage Spaghetti Squash Bowls Makes 4 servings Ingredients: •9 ounces Jennie-O turkey sausage •4 teaspoons olive oil •1/4 cup chopped onion •1 teaspoon minced garlic •1/4 cup water •1 tablespoons Cajun seasoning •1 ½ pound raw shrimp (extra-large), peeled and deveined •4 cups cooked spaghetti squash (about 1 medium) •1/4 cup chopped cilantro (or parsley) •2 teaspoons fresh lime juice Instructions: 1. Place the sausage in a large skillet and cook over medium-high heat for about 6 minutes, or until cooked through. Remove and set aside. 2. Add the olive oil, onions and garlic to the skillet and cook over medium-high heat for 2 minutes, or until fragrant and turning translucent. 3. Add the water and simmer for one minute. 4. Add the cajun seasoning, cooked sausage, and shrimp to the pan and cook for three minutes or until the shrimp are turning pink and opaque. 5. Stir in the cooked spaghetti squash, cilantro and lime juice until well combined. 6. Remove from heat and serve, garnished with more cilantro or parsley if desired. My preferred way to cook spaghetti squash is to stab it (deeply) all over and microwave it for 12 minutes (small), 15 minutes (medium) or 20 minutes (large) and then cut it in half and scrape out the strands of cooked spaghetti squash. It’s pretty foolproof, and the fastest method I know of to cook spaghetti squash easily. Storm and I cooked my bomb-ass chili recipe tonight! Healthy yet completely satisfying. Save this post and TAG a Chili-lovin’ friend!⠀ ⠀ You need:⠀ * 1/2 sweet onion chopped⠀ * 4 smashed cloves of garlic⠀ * 2 lbs of 90/10 ground beef⠀ * 2 cans of Goya Black Bean Soup⠀ * 1 can of dark red low sodium kidney beans⠀ * 1 tbsp of Heinz chili sauce⠀ * 2 large can of diced tomatoes⠀ * 1 6oz. Can of tomato paste⠀ * To season: salt, black and red pepper, cumin and chili powder⠀ ⠀ 1. Sauté onion and garlic and season with salt, pepper, and chili powder in a large pan⠀ 2. Add in beef and keep stirring until almost cooked. Move to a big stock pot. ⠀ 3. Add in all remaining ingredients. Cook on low for an hour with the lid on but kinda vented on one side. ⠀ 4. **** Add Cholula Chipotle sauce as needed*** 👈secret ingredient 🤫⠀ 5. I have always loved Greek chicken, and order it almost anywhere that has it on the menu. Ground beef with potatoes served with asparagus. This meal is super simple to prepare. Ingredients: grass fed ground beef, red potatoes, red peppers, onions, garlic, cilantro, parsley; season with salt, pepper, cumin and oregano. Chopped tomatoes (peeled and seeds removed) and white cooking wine. Use a little ghee butter to prevent sticking on your pan and cook chopped peppers, onions, cilantro and parsley. And no matter what, you are NOT going to lose your "healthy" status from eating a cookie...or two...or three.⠀ ⠀ 🍪 It’s the ongoing habit of poor eating that leads to bad outcomes. Your skin isn’t going to breakout from one cookie. If it does, then that’s just a coincidence! ⠀ ⠀ 🍪 What you will gain is tremendous enjoyment. This pleasure can be very rewarding to our health in other ways. Total Cookie Monster over here 🙋🏼‍♀️ You all know that I get my workouts in, but you probably don’t know that I’ve got a serious issue when it comes to sweets. Just one bite and I’ll go deep down the rabbit hole for days.....(prime example I took those cookies out of the freezer just to take the picture....then I ate them both, still frozen, and practically cracked my tooth in the process 🙄) I know with 100% certainty that this is why I don’t always see the results that I want with my fitness. I’m usually good for 4-5 days then cave and have to start over. But here’s the key. I ALWAYS start over. I don’t let my inner Cookie Monster sabotage all my work. But, I WANT to change this dynamic for good.
