🐚 Aptly named Shell Beach, this entire beach in WA is completely made of shells.🐚 Consisting of billions of cockle shells as far as the eye can see and 10m deep, not a single grain of sand... we’ll sort of not, expect for the ground down shells!
In the early 1900s, the shells were quarried and hard packed, cut into blocks and used to construct local buildings. Obviously we had to have lunch at the pub constructed from shells in Denham.
The kids loved swimming here, the water here is super salty, so you simply float along! Hot tip is don’t shave your legs that morning, I had and it deadset stung 😫! This coast list is truly astonishing. This morning we were waving goodbye to the reddest of red cliffs and now here we are swimming on a beach made of nothing but shells! at Shell Beach
