Have I ever struggled or experienced setbacks in the road to creating the thriving health that I have today? I get a version of this question more often than any other from my readers. Friends, what I most want you to know is that you’re never alone...
Please understand that just like you, I’ve STRUGGLED. HARD. Since changing my diet in 2013, I’ve ended up in the ER and the hospital twice. This happened after my small intestine twisted around itself, causing the most severe pain that I’ve ever experienced. (Search “Stronger Than Before” on my blog to read my post about this). It also took me 3 1/2 years AFTER I changed my diet to heal my adrenals from producing zero cortisol, to fully functioning. It wasn’t easy.
These are only a few of the countless challenges that I’ve faced, but what I’ve come to realize is that life isn’t a straight line. Really though, how boring would that be? It’s full of extreme highs, extreme lows, and everything in between. Over time, I’ve learned how to take the punches and I always make sure that I come back stronger than before.
When things get really, really challenging, I continue to move through it, even if it feels like it’s an inch at a time. I look for ways to change my approach, and constantly search for the lesson that I can learn. THIS is how I’ve gotten to where I am today. I never, ever, ever gave up. Even when it felt so.damn.hard.
It’s EASY to get discouraged and to think that you’re the only one struggling, but I promise you that isn’t ever the case. If you truly want anything in life, I hope to show you that learning to be resilient is where it’s at. If you truly want it, you’ve gotta learn to take the falls, dust yourself off, and continue to move forward. We don’t always get a choice in what happens to us, but the choice that we always get is in how we respond.
You have to take responsibility for your own life. You have to learn to stop listening to others limiting beliefs, and instead, decide that no matter what, you’re gonna to be the one to write your own story. You got this. I believe in you. ❤️ #neverquit #earnednotgiven #crohnsdisease #autoimmune #healthiseverything #loveyourlife
