Did you know?! 🤔 Strawberries contain Vitamin C, which helps you fight periodontal (gum) disease and also helps reduce inflammation, a result of gum disease.👌 They’re also rich in antioxidants, which help protect your gums by fighting the bacteria that cause inflammation and lead to gum disease.🍓🍓🤗

Our hygiene team and patients have been trialling another eco friendly product- Life Basics Bamboo and Charcoal Toothbrushes. Our eco conscious hygienist Ashleigh loves that this product is made from environmentally sustainable bamboo, is biodegradable and has 100% plastic free packaging. One of our 8 year old patients loved the feel of the handle and found it gentle on her gums. Downsides- One person found that the end of their brush got mouldy after a while, and starting at $6.95, is a little more expensive. Further product reviews to come 😊 #medlanddental

😉❄️🌨 The weather is not really what it should be in this time of the year. The snow usually makes our holidays more beautiful and we seen to be happier when the snow is falling. You can get that snow white on your own with SPLAT SPECIAL EXTREME WHITE. As it says on the tube, your teeth are going to be extremely white, ideal for a pearly white smile as you throw that snowball at your unsuspecting victim! But throw with caution and smile nicely! 😉❄️🌨 #dentoteka #pripnenasmeh #splat #extremewhite #dentist #dentistry #dentalhealth #dentaloffice #dentalassistant #dentalhygienist #dentalhygiene #dentalhealth #dent #hygiene #hygienist #oralhealth #oralhealthcare #igdental #igdentist #photo #potd #photooftheday #photodaily #teeth #teethcare #teethcleaning #igphoto #health #whiteningtoothpaste #whiterthansnow

Fun dental fact: if you’re ever in a trauma/accident and a permanent tooth falls out, you can actually save it and have it replanted back in! Just place it in milk, or even back into your mouth/socket (try not to wash it off in order to keep as many viable cells and ligaments alive on it, and don’t touch it by the root). Then get to a dentist/endodontist asap (within 30 Min)!! Nothing is better than your healthy natural tooth 😬👊 — okay that’s all the fun facts for today and enough procrastination for me 👀

Bleeding gums are caused by inadequate plaque removal. Plaque contains germs which attack the healthy tissue around the teeth. This will cause the gums to become inflamed and irritated, which may cause them to bleed when brushing or flossing. This is called Gingivitis and is the first stage of gum disease. Gingivitis is usually a painless condition and bleeding gums may be the only symptom. Some other signs may include: swollen, red or tender gums, persistent bad breath or taste, teeth that are loose and a change in the way your teeth fit when you bite. At this stage the disease can be treated and completely reversed. So it is important not to ignore your bleeding gums. . . . . . #teeth #tooth #toothless #cirugiabucal #dental #dentist #dentistry #dentistrymyworld #dentalhygiene #dentalassistant #dentalschool #dentalstudent #dentalhealtheducation #dentalfacts #dentalguide #odonto #odontogram #odontologo #odontolove #odontología #odontogram #estomatología #eleenaahmadwerk #periodontia #periodontist #gingivitis #gum #bleedinggums #periodontitis #gumdisease #plaque

There are certain a food which are advice not to eat and what to eat when the patient had the braces weather it's removable or fixed. So be very careful while eating as it may break the appliance or wires which will prolong the treatment. #dentalassistant #dentist #orthodontist #fixed #removable #braces #teeth #straight and beautiful teeth 🙂🙂🤐😁😁✌🏼

Oral verrucous carcinoma (OVC) presents predominantly as an exophytic growth with a pebbly, micronodular surface, a slow growing rate and becomes locally invasive if not treated properly. Verrucous carcinoma (VC) a variant of well-differentiated SCC was defined by Ackerman in 1948 as a diagnostically challenging squamous cell neoplasia involving lip, oropharyngeal, and laryngeal mucosa. Various synonyms used to describe this tumor, including Ackerman's tumor, Buschke Lowenstein tumor, florid oral papillomatosis, epithelioma cuniculatum, and carcinoma cuniculatum. The most common site of occurrence is oral cavity involving buccal mucosa, mandibular alveolar crest, gingiva, and tongue with glottic larynx being the most frequent nonoral site. . Betel nut chewing, poor dental hygiene, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection have been implicated in the development of OVC. The likelihood of detecting HPV in VC was found to be 29.5%. Use of tobacco in the smokeless and inhaled forms has been predominantly reported in the affected patients, followed by areca nut chewing and use of alcohol. . 📸 credit and Adapted from ; Dhanya S. Excelente 👏👏👏 #Repost @kissingfresh (@get_repost) ・・・ Most of us cannot even imagine what life would be like without brushing and flossing our teeth everyday😁. However, in the scheme of things, tooth brushing is relatively, new since nylon bristle toothbrushes didn’t become part of our normal American experience until the late 1930s! It’s important to remember that, in spite of the fact that most people in American today were all raised with toothbrushes in our mouths, our ancestors didn’t brush their teeth with toothpaste for thousands of years. Try brushing with activated charcoal and coconut 🏝 for the most optimal clean and pristine oral health. www.KissingFresh.com 🔹 🔹 🔹 #teeth #tooth #toothless #extraction #cirugiabucal #oralsurgery #dental #dentist #dentistry #matteonegri #dentalhygiene #dentalassistant #dentalschool #dentalstudent #dentalhygiene #implant #implants #odonto #odontogram #odontologo #odontolove #odontología #odontologia #odontogram #odontoporamor #estomatología #prosthesis

In the real world, treatment plans are not always ideal. 🤷‍♂️ Patients will come to you with limited financial resources and want you to do something to help their non-textbook case. This patient had not been to a dentist in years, was a heavy smoker, and as you can see from his panoramic radiograph 👉 tooth 22 was 💣💣 out (why did we leave in his MAX partial for the x-ray? 🧐🧐 lol, idk 😬🤪). His MAND partial no longer functioned well (due to cingulum rest on tooth 22 missing due to decay) and it flexed so much, rubbing his tissue, that it created an intraoral ulcer lingual to teeth 25-26.💥 Moderate periodontal disease was present around remaining MAND anterior teeth, including extensive horizontal bone loss, Class I-II mobility and 1:1 crown-to-root ratios. What do you do? Refuse to treat until perio is stabilized? Refuse to treat unless an implant is placed at site 22? Patient is pushing 80 years old, is tired of eating soft food, just wants to eat steak, and had a great experience with his previous MAND partial. Here is what we did——Advised him to not wear partial for several days to allow ulcer to heal. Extracted tooth 22 and completed a distal composite in tooth 27. Healed for 2 weeks. Completed a prophy/OHI and scheduled him for another prophy in 6 mo. New partial designed and tooth 23 prepped for survey crown that included lingual cingulum rest. Crown seated. Primary impressions taken. Wax try-in completed. Delivered finished MAND partial with extensive patient education on oral hygiene and importance of controlling periodontal disease affecting remaining MAND teeth. New partial fit like a dream and patient was very happy. Is it the ideal result? For this patient, perhaps. But according to the highest standards in the realm of dental possibilities, maybe not. I hope his remaining MAND teeth can handle the stresses placed onto them and remain solid supports for the new RPD. I am finding that modifying treatment plans to fit the needs of my patients while delivering the highest standard of care possible is one of the most important skills I’m wrestling with as a first year dentist.

Happy Monday and MLK Day, friends! I didn’t have work today so I started my day with a quick workout, then headed off to another open house. About an hour after I got home, I learned we got approved for the apartment I shared on my story a few days ago (our first choice!). For my non-Bay Area peeps, finding housing here is extremely difficult, so today was a big victory 😁 With that said, I definitely haven’t been preparing for my Peru trip (no idea where we’re staying or what we’ll be doing 😱) or interview like I should be. • For school interviews, I like to compile a list of previously asked questions, type out my responses and rehearse as much as possible. I thought it would be fun to prepare for my upcoming interview by picking 5 random questions to answer on here. If there is anything you’re itching to know, ask away! • I’ll kick this series off by telling you guys a little about myself! My name is Tammy and I’m a first-generation Vietnamese American/college grad. I was born in California but spent most of my life on the east coast (Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania and, most recently, New Jersey). I graduated USC with a major in biological sciences and minor in English. I spent my final semester of college in South Africa, where I got to help with an HIV study, scrub in/suture for the first time and go shark cage diving. After graduating I worked as a researcher/scribe for a few years before heading off to medical school. I quickly learned this was not the path I wanted to pursue, but hung on to the hope that my feelings would change. Realizing I was right all along, I ended up taking a leave of absence after my first year to pursue dentistry head-on and haven’t looked back since. In my spare time, you’ll find me working out, cooking, binging on Gilmore Girls or dabbling with graphic design/photography 😌 • Feel free to introduce yourself below 😊 It’s been so much fun getting to know you all 💕

If you want to keep your smile bright, you should avoid drinking soda, black tea, coffee and red wine, which can stain your teeth. If you do drink these, the best way to avoid stains is to rinse your mouth with water immediately after consuming these beverages. The water also helps keep bad breath under control!

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the voice of the Civil Rights movement in the United States. He was a great man and believed that we needed actual changes in our system in order for people of color to have the ability to be equal to the white majority. He used his amazing public speaking abilities and charisma to gain the hearts of millions on his passionate ideas for peace. . .
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was the face of the Civil Rights movement in the United States, yet it took the help of millions who all do not receive recognition on this day. . . Some of King’s greatest followers and advisors were black women and they helped propel this mission into full throttle. . An example of this would be the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Those who were mainly affected were black women who were the main users of the bus system in order to get to and from work. . . Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and those before me have paved the way for me to not only take part in higher learning, but to pursue my dreams of becoming a dentist. . . They have paved the way for millions of us all to have a chance at something we never did before. Dentistry is heavily dominated by white males and has been since its starting. Now women and people of color have the ability to make a difference in their communities and give care to those who can relate to them the most. . . Our world and dentistry still have a long way to go. But my peers and myself are the ones who have the ability reimagine and create a better America for everyone. . . I thank Dr. King for all of his sacrifice and hope everyone enjoys their Martin Luther King Jr. Day. . . Checkout my link to learn more about the Civil Rights Movement, and I challenge you to investigate for yourself and tell me about it in the comments! . . . . . . #CivilRights #mlkweekend2018 #equality4all #dentistrylife #Community #PublicHealth #Premed #predent #healthcare #SanDiego #ScrubLife #teeth #dentista #dental #futuredentists #medicine #students #dentalassistant #scrubs #UCSD #California #premed #giveback #healthcare #humanitarian #dentistry

☎️ (19) 3493 6642 Whats 📲 (19) 99820 7033 #Ortodontia #aparelhoortodontico #sorriso #estetica #autoestima #odontologia #Statusmktdigital

If you’re feeling a little frazzled or disorganized when studying, take some time to clear your study space. Give yourself enough room for all your study materials (books, notes, pens, etc.), make sure there’s enough light, and get rid of as many distractions as you can. A comfortable chair can also help. #as4u #careers #dentistry #dentalassistant
