💥Hamstring Training💥 - 👉Training your hamstrings is a strange gig. If you do them right, you’ll likely not need a lot of work to feel sore the next day. - 👉If you’re doing exercises like controlled deadlifts, Romanian or Stiff-legged deadlifts or Good Mornings then you are purposely loading the muscle through the eccentric portion of the lift (as the muscle lengthens) - ☝️This can cause a LOT of muscle damage and so just a few sets of these in your session can really hit the money. - 👉If you’re doing just a bunch of leg curls then you could really be missing out on effective hamstring training. - 📽4 sets of 10-12 of these Dumbbell Romanian Deadlifts last night and I am already feeling sore this morning...it’s only going to get worse as the day goes on! - at Latchmere Leisure Centre

😈DEADLIFTS😈 290kg✔ 310kg✔ 320kg ❌ This was the most epic part of the whole contest. The back and forth between Will and Bas had us all feeling goosebumps. Everyone was on their feet. When that final 387.5kg deadlift came up the house came down. Thats what powerlifting is all about. - We were all dead tired at this point. We had been competing for 8 hours or so and maintaining that fire for so long is extremely draining. My hamstring/calf was in a bad way from the squat fail, but thankfully @powerlifting_physio put me back together again, ready to redline. - My opener felt the best 290kg had ever felt. It flew up. If I had of jumped straight to 320kg it likely would have come up, but better to hit a guarenteed 310kg than roll the dice on a 60% chance of 10kg more. Thats called playing for the total, which wins comps. Pb hunting doesnt. That said I still swung for the fences with 320kg on my third, but the fatigue from the 310kg was too great. - Given that deadlifts are my worst lift, this is what I was happiest with on the day. I had no grip issues, so clearly all that extra finger training (not kidding) worked. I was also without a handler at this point because the comp went on longer than we all anticipated and they had flights to catch. I actually enjoyed going through this on my own, being responsible for making the right calls under pressure. I was left with instructions to hit 310kg at all costs... 🔸Leg day🔸 Warmed up with my skipping. Think I need a new rope because mine keeps twisting up.. Started with squats 4 sets. 12reps. First set is light to get my form in and activate my hips. Sumo Deadlifts. 4 sets 12reps. I needed my wrist straps as you could see I was struggling on the last few reps. Lifting with your ego is only going to end one way... SNAP 💥Avoid competing with the smaller guy at the side of you lifting double his bodyweight. He's probably been doing this for years... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3. Use your ass in the lift. It's one of the biggest muscles and plays a vital part in the deadlift yet many will not engage it properly. This is mainly down to a lot of us sitting for an unhealthy amount of time during the day and so our bum turns off. Try some glute bridges before to wake them up then really feel them contract just before you lift ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4. Do not overextend at the top. It's not a competition to get make your back looking like a backwards C at the top it's about lifting the weight with good form. Lift until your spine is in a neutral position then stop and lower back down ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5. Lower with control. Not only do you look like a douche that can't handle the weight but you're missing out on half the exercise! If the weights too heavy to lower it! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 6. Stop trying to look at the roof. Doing this puts a lot of unnecessary strain on your neck and again knocks your spine out of a neutral position ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 7. Wear flat soled shoes or go barefoot. If your trainers have a lot of heel then just take them off for the deadlift. This allows you to really sink back onto your heels and drive from them. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Do you agree? I do both.. the ugly, and the prettier stuff. Heres some of the ugly stuff ... Squats moved  90 x 8, 90 x 6, 100 x 5 100 x 4 Deadlifts: (coz i clearly cant count 😂🤔) 95 x 9, 100 x 8, 120 x 8 Followed by a back session. Spontaneously decided to do deadlifts today and got a new PR!! The video shows me pulling 215 but soon after that I pulled 230! 🤯 . . . . It’s been a while since I’ve done deadlifts and I surprised myself today. I am now part of the 200 club in two compound lifts and it feels AMAZING! This is why I lift and continue to lift. Nothing is more rewarding than testing what you can do and how far you have grown in strength. My previous PR for sumo was 175, so I just blew that out of the water! . . . Okeeeey it’s time... let’s face this week and start all new 👍🏽✨ Nachdem ich jetzt etwa 5 Wochen wegen einer Lungenentzündung nichts machen konnte außer im Bett zu liegen und Tee zu trinken, freue ich mich unfassbar wenn diese Woche zu Ende ist und ich ab nächster dann endlich wieder ins Gym kann 🥰 Das Problem war,dass ich mich nie richtig auskuriert habe und trotzdem noch arbeiten und zb ins Gym gegangen bin 😅 (das Video entstand beispielsweise vor 5 Wochen als es anfing und ich dachte es sei ein Schnupfen🤧, so blöd von mir... danach wurde es richtig schlimm) aaaalso hört auf euren Körper und erholt euch wenn er euch die Zeichen gibt!☝🏾diese #deadlifts haben mich im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes erstmal aus dem Leben katapultiert In diesem Sinne #thankyounext week please 🙏🏽 Ich wünsche euch eine wunderbare Woche und hoffe ihr habt die Grippezeit gut überstanden! at Mannheim, Germany
