Week 7 started. Windy run with Waves crashing up on to the path! As it’s now all running I’ve decided not to track the warm up/cool down and only the run itself. Pace was around my best time, and could’ve been better if I didn’t have a steep lot of steps to climb that wiped me out! This one sucked. I was stiff and my legs felt dead the whole way. I didn't even loosen up until like mile 7... You can see how many times on the map that I had to stop and stretch. At least the weather was nice. I'm going to eat pizza now. at Bismarck, Arkansas

Meal prepping makes me feel like I slightly have my life together. I talked on my story about how I use meal prepping to just make my life easier. If I’m (genuinely)hungry I will eat more. I will not stress about my calories, carbs, fats, protein. Breakfast will be a smoothie. Lunch is salad. I prepped one for tomorrow. I have cut up lettuce, chicken, and hard boiled eggs for the rest of the week too. I’ll just put it all together the night before hand. Dinner will be turkey cheese burger casserole with roasted broccoli. I posted the recipe for the casserole and you can search roasted broccoli on Pinterest. Snacks will be apple(weigh that shit out not every apple will have the same stats look at the size difference), gogo blastz because I’m a child, and almond butter toast. Swipe for meals and stats.

And 💥! Finishing out the week with a green #fitbit goal smashing day. Today I managed to run and do a very chilled #yinyoga class which I almost fell asleep in. This week I managed to workout everyday, walked the most steps in a week for 2019 so far, ran the farthest and fastest in ages, and I saw the 60s in my weigh ins. Edging closer to the under 12 stone mark. "Anything you want for yourself, you have to do yourself. And the first step to getting there, is that we're not going to have a dream, we're going to have a plan." . . I mentioned on one of my tribe check in posts the other day that my nutrition hasn't been great recently. I didn't think too much of it, as I'm a sucker for "I'll eat better tomorrow/Monday"s and "I'm so far from where I started so I deserve to eat this"s and "I'm not slipping back into following a diet so I'm not going to get too hung up on what I eat"s. But it has been on my mind that I need to get a hold of my nutrition again and I keep toying with strategies, but not committing to any. . . And then one of my awesome tribe friends reached out to me after seeing my check in to talk nutrition as she was in a similar position, and just having someone else to talk it through with has given me that little push and brain clearing so that I could get a plan together for myself. . . I go on holiday in 7 weeks, and I want to make sure I feel comfortable as hell in that swimming costume tanning by the pool 😎 so that is my short term 'why' and my focus, because short term is how my brain works best. . . Snacking and sweet treats are my downfall, so I'm going back to thinking 80% 20% with nutrition, and limiting (healthy) snacking to 1-2 a day (because eating whole, balanced meals should mean less need inbetween meals anyway 🥗). . . And after next week, I'll be ready to kick off round 2 of my 20 minutes, daily step sweat sessions 💪🏼💦 which will lead me nicely up to my holiday. . . And I have my lovely @drekellerhomefit4life to check in with for that extra accountability as we're focusing on the same things 🙌🏼 and of course the other 53 people in our support group, who are all showing up for their own goals daily 👏🏼 . . Sometimes, you just need to talk things through with someone to get a clear plan in your head and realign a little. My inbox is always open if you're one of those people and you want to chat through your struggles/goals 💌 . . All is currently quiet on the Western Front! I continue to go into hospital every 3 weeks to receive herceptin and perjeta to keep the growth of the bad cells at bay. It has now become a bit of a routine, but it never fails to surprise me how quickly they come around. I’ve now had 7 sessions of the drugs, and they continue to give me all the anti- reaction meds to prevent me ending up back in A&E. I look at my body sometimes and and ponder the advantages and disadvantages of everything I’ve had to put my body through. I currently have (and have had for some months now) some lymphedema swelling in the offending breast which makes me feel like I’m carrying around a water melon... Think of the scene from the Dirty Dancing film. The advantage is, when I lie on my back it no longer disappears under my armpit like it used to (and the other one still does!). I look at the scars all over me which include a long scar across the middle of my back, one just under my collarbone, one just underneath my nonexistent belly button and 2 a bit further down 😉. The advantages? Get to play dot to dot! I’m actually quite proud of my scars as they do act as a reminder of just everything I’ve gone through so far. The disadvantages I suppose are obvious and I do have days when it is all a complete “head fuck” and the questions like “why me?” , “what next?”, “what happens when...?” all invade my head and keep me awake at night. So I shake myself down, look at my changed body and react. I have read and listened to many articles about looking after a “cancer body “ and the overwhelming evidence that it needs nurturing and exercising, and you also have to be kind to your self. It won’t cure me, but it will make me feel better, and help to tolerate the meds better. Clearly the longer I can handle the meds and their side effects the better. So I eat well, exercise more, still enjoy a glass of wine or 2 or G&T (that’s being kind to myself, right?!) all in the name of body preservation!! A slow and tough 5k tonight. Sometimes when we find things difficult it's easy to feel like we're not succeeding. That's how I felt on this run and I had to remind myself that 18 months ago when I started with the couch to 5k app, I could barely run for a full minute. Back then I felt like a failure for struggling with that but I should have reminded myself that at least I had moved my butt from the sofa! You can pull my #coffeecreamer out of my cold, dead hands! It doesn't matter how low my calorie budget gets, I will ALWAYS find room for creamer in my coffee. Caramel vanilla is my usual poison of choice. 😛 I've never been a fan of black drip coffee. Espresso is fine black, because the acidity is lower, but actual drip coffee has to have some accompaniment. But just remember: measure and #trackeverything in #myfitnesspal! Feeling damn awesome today! Managed to run for 29 minutes straight (28 was the #Couch25K goal for today). Managed to run 2 x Km in under 6 minutes and not feel overly stretched. AND it’s a blooming glorious spring day and I’m remembering all the wonderful reasons why we chose to live by the park. So many people out running, cycling, or walking the dog. A little advice, don’t take a very chatty 6 year old running with you 😫 we had to keep stopping for a drink, for a pain in the shoulder, a stone in the shoe, a chat (!?) and he did not. Stop. Talking.... usually I use running as my headspace from being a mum, a wife, work, house etc, my mind wonders and I’m just Hannah again, taking this one with me took that away from me. I knew it would when he asked if he could come and I would have said no but it’s half term and this afternoon he is going to my parents to stay for the week as I have stupid work so I wanted to spend the time with him! EVERY single person has fear. It’s totally normal to be scared! Going after your dreams, taking a big test, going after that promotion, giving a speech, speaking your mind, talking to someone new....we all get those jitters! The problem is that most people label that as anxiety. They label themselves with this anxiety and use it as a reason to not do what scares them. Anxiety is simply negative energy that feels pretty shitty and it makes your heart race and thoughts go crazy which makes it all worse. When you learn to manage these emotions, you can get through ANYTHING. Being scared is OKAY.....it’s what you do WITH that fear. You can let it cripple you and ruin your life OR fight through it and do it anyway! That’s the difference between successful people and unsuccessful people....the ones who pushed through fear, came out on top and conquered. . The next time you have to do something that scares you, tell yourself “it’s normal to be scared...everyone gets scared! I will never live the life I want if I let fear win”. Take deep breaths, shut off that damn brain chatter that is making those emotions worse and JUST DO IT. Once you do it, not only will you have conquered your fears, it won’t be as scary next time, and you will be SO damn proud of yourself for doing it. 💪 YOU ARE STRONGER THEN FEAR!

Into the canyon and back out. 14 miles round trip and this was about normal snow amounts on the path which did not make for an easy run! The last two miles at the end of the canyon were in the car wheel paths and it was a few inches deep, uuffa! Did I enjoy it? No I did an out and back because I one the only way I was going to do 14 was if I ran seven miles away from my house. Am I glad I did it? After 4 weeks of not running due to those nasty bugs, I thought I might get a personal worst time today at the Parkrun - possibly meeting the tail-walker. Very surprised by the time, even with the added weight resulting from all those doughnuts while only fit for eating! The recovery wasn’t so good, but to be expected. I wasn’t in the mood to take a photo, but still the beach as the background.
