The last time Auburn advanced to the College World Series was in 1997. Here is some stats from this team and how their season went.
Notable players on the roster consisted of David Ross and Tim Hudson. Two future HOF in my opinion. Drafted players from that year include Tim Hudson, Bryan Hebson, Patrick Dunham, Finley Woodard, and Robert Macrory.
Overall record was 50-17, 12 of those losses were in SEC play.
The manager was Auburn great Hal Baird. -
Highlights of the season were making the CWS (of course) and one of the most memorable baseball play calls of Rods career, David Ross’s HR against FSU to send Auburn to Omaha. Auburn ended up lasting 3 games in the CWS, ultimately losing to Stanford twice to put them out of it. -
This will probably be Auburn’s best season ever, unless this years team goes far in the CWS which I can definitely see happening.
