In an ideal world, we'd all have time to exercise for an hour each day, burn enough calories to indulge in our favorite foods, and fit in all of the other commitments we have. Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world. So when we do find time to squeeze in a workout, we want to get the most out of it right?! High intensity interval training or HIIT - is just what the Dr ordered!💪 Sounds great, right? It is, but not all interval workouts are created equal. Here are three ways to smash your HIIT and burn maximum calories -
Good: 10 minute workout - Tabata training Inspired by a study that found that just four minutes of HIIT four times a week could yield big gains in cardio strength and muscle development. Go really hard for 20 seconds any exercise you like, then rest for 10 seconds. Repeat that 10 times.
Better: 1 minute intervals work so intensely that it takes you 2 minutes to recover. Repeat 10 times. If you are overweight or new to interval training choose exercises with weights that take body weight out of the equation, such as using light dumbbells.
Best: Climb The Pyramid
Once you've become comfortable with the above, take things up a notch: Do hard intervals of 30 seconds, 1 minute, 2 minutes, 3 minutes and 4 minutes, with a recovery after each of 30 seconds. Then work your way back down with intervals of 4 minutes, 3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute. It'll burn plenty of calories!
Don't wait start tomorrow and in a month of doing this every day you will start to see changes!
