A while ago, i saw a post asking wether Justise Winslow was a "bust" or not (even though he is LITERALLY having his best season) and here is my answer to that post:
I personally dont think Winslow is a bust, he's having his best season and he suffered with injuries at the start of his career. Also, he's 22.
Anyways, i think we need to chill on judging or labeling players too soon when it comes to calling them busts. Something that fans do a lot these days is instantly call players busts since their 1at or 2nd season. Players should NOT be labeled as "busts or not" until they either reach their prime, which usually comes around the age of 26 to 30, and see how they are performing at that age and THEN, we can make a debate about it.
For example, Anthony Bennett is like 25 rn and he's in the G-League, so as a no.1 overall pick, or as a high lottery player overall, he's officially considered a Bust.
A different example on the other end of the spectrum, its Willie Cauley-Stein, before this season, some people labeled him as a bust, something that was done too soon IMO. But look at him now, at age 25, he's having a great season so far. Averaging 12.7ppg, 8.5rpg, 2.6apg & 1.3spg on 53.9% from FG in just 28.1mpg! He plays his role perfectly for the Kings and is an important piece of their roster this season. Plus, the Kings are most likely making the playoffs this season too.
In conlusion, let's wait a bit for players to develop before we officially determine them as "busts".
