Back when we started off in 2015, the dream was to always to host a @blottin AV set. As irony would have it before Blot! eventually played in this homely basement of ours in November 2016, their AV act ended a month before. But when #Blot! Played for the first time, it became a marker for what sound we represented with almost 1000 people in our home. It was the coolest party we ever dared to do. Since then Blot! has played in the basement 4 more times to our joy and hopefully he will do so many more times.
But the journey is very important. Of course his mesmerising set at @magneticfieldsfestival 2015 and its legend had a huge play in it, but also ironically a #BlotCast he had recorded for @editorinchief’s @euphoricmag_ was what really started everything for us. The first two songs in this podcast were “miyajima” & “the waiting”. It was this dreamy maelstrom of electronica which today I know to be the work of @georgefitzmusic. We knew at that moment that this is the music we’d want to hear when we’re up in the heavens at warp speed some time in the future.
And that’s why to launch warpcore and as a part of its first tour in partnership with @slickingitup there can’t be something more personal than having George play. It kind of exists in someway because of his music which we heard because of Blot!. So it is apt that Gaurav is supporting this entire tour because without him there is no motivation to do warpcore and surely we wouldn’t know George’s music as intimately as we know so today.
Sometime back last year, when we were helping curate #PCMagLive, this was something we really wanted to do & Prateek was our man. No-one else was going to do this apart from us and sLick! pretty much made sure of that
And as a part of this, three city journey, in two we are involved end-to-end where we are doing a bunch of cool stuff with two brands that we’ve worked with for a while. Who they are, we will reveal as we get down to individual legs, but fun is guaranteed. As a part of this journey, we are bringing the #warpcore vibe to Bombay and Pune, so we do hope our friends from those cities come in droves for our coming out party.
