“Is this ice-cream,” people ask me when they see this picture. No, this is actually soap and water whisked together. I call it soap slime. It's sensory play, messy play and fun play.
I usually set down a bath mat in the bathtub and allow my friends to play with this soap slime in the bath. It keeps the activity contained and is easy to clean up after. Unless you just run the bath and make a massive bubble bath?
In the summer you can scoop each colour into a large box/sandbox and let them play with it in the garden.
This recipe makes one batch and if you look at the picture it´s the size of the kitchen aid bowl. You can make many colours but that being said, I’ve made only one colour in the past and my little friend was happy with that.
(You can make one big batch by multiplying the recipe and mixing it in a very large box. Then divide the mixture into a few bowls, then add a different food colouring into each bowl then whisk until the colour has blended well).
This goes without saying, but your children are playing with soap so you have to tell them to be careful not to put it in their eyes. Also it does look quite delicious so it’s not for eating either!
