💗With all the Valentine’s Day posts the past few days, it got me thinking...
Sometimes we get so busy giving and showing love to others, that we forget to show love to ourselves too. It’s so crucial that we take some time do to so because truthfully if you don’t love yourself, it’s going to effect all areas of your life (your job, relationships, diet, health, etc). You can workout consistently and have the best nutrition, but if you don’t take care of yourself and your mindset first, you aren’t ever going to be healthy.
I personally started incorporating it into my daily activities and I have seen a huge shift when it comes to my attitude and overall mental state. To be completely honest, this time of year has always been the worst for me when it comes to my anxiety and how I feel in general. The days get long, and I get much more down and sad about the littlest of things. Life gets busy, but I promise that taking some time to focus on you can shift your mindset tremendously!
Self care looks different for everyone, but these are some examples that I use personally...
Daily: Listing 3 things I’m grateful for in the morning, moving my body (working out/dancing), listening to music, or watching a few episodes of a show
Weekly: Journaling, organizing, reading, planning out my week
Monthly: At least one day out of the month I dedicate to myself. On this day I’ll get my nails done, have my own spa day, take an extra long shower, purge out some old clothes, etc. Do whatever makes you happy! Even if that’s spending half the day in bed😛
I realized that before I can help others, I need to take care of myself first. I encourage you to try some of these and know that while it’s the best feeling to feel loved by others, we need to put in the effort to spend time and love ourselves first💕💗 at West Bend, Wisconsin
