I was scared and unsure of what was ahead of me. Travelling solo is not easy especially when you are not good in being alone...
To challenge myself a little further... I started of exploring the island by couchsurfing. That helped me to limit my expenses but it was something I have never done before.
Even though it takes courage and you have to convince yourself here and there... it was totally worth it.
I made friends using FB and sometimes even when going out by myself. I traveled with people that I have never met before and shared a bed with them...
The most amazing thing... you are all here for the same reason. The people you travel with are not necessarily people you would hang out with outside of your travels.
What it thaught me the most? To be patient, to accept mine but also other people’s flaws, that it is okay to be alone and most importantly I realised how often we are afraid of something new.
Even though I’m a very positive person, but the downside is I am a girl. You will have to be strong sometimes and know when to say no. Men will try their ways and it is hard to say no but at the same time continue being friends with them as you will have to travel with them for a few more days.... My conclusion? If you have never traveled by yourself... give it a shot! It teaches you a lot about yourself and the world around you.
