Journeys can take you on a roller coaster ride that you didn't have to wait in a long line for. You instantly hop on and experience the twists, turns, bumps and hills. These are the daily obstacles which you must overcome each and every day. ••• I don't know about you, but this is the reality of my fitness journey. It all started in 2015 and continues today. You will notice there are lots of breaks within the past 4 years, but the same thought has always been in the back of my mind. ••• I will be healthy. I will be fit. I will be the best version of myself. ••• None of those have every gone away, but I allowed other things to take priority over my own body and wellbeing. ••• I am here today to get back on this journey and put myself out there. I want to motivate and inspire others to do the same. I have recently moved to a new state where I know no one and started a new job. This chapter of my life is about putting myself out there and hoping it leads me somewhere. But, the realty is that I have no idea what the future will bring. ••• No matter where you are in the world, what your age is, what your relationship status is, what car you drive, what your political or religious views are, or what your daily life entails, we all have one powerful thing in common. ••• We have been given ONE incredible body and it is up to us how we treat it. | LOVE IS SALTY | So we lost our dog yesterday and our Valentine’s Day turned out to be one for the books. | (UN)REST | We don’t usually do anything crazy for Valentine’s Day. So I was pretty surprised that hubs booked a couple days away for just the two of us and I admit I was pretty excited 💕 • Unfortunately, we are snowed OUT of our snowy getaway—as in, we literally can’t drive to our hotel. I’ve been dying for some quality time with the Mr, and I’ve also been dying to get some real REST and to RECHARGE. 😩 • But instead of making some new memories, I’m stuck reminiscing about getaways of the past. Last night was anxiety filled. I hate those nights. Plus it typically shows itself at night once the day has calmed down and kids are asleep. I don’t meditate enough honestly, I was doing it daily and then as I started to feel better I stopped. Definitely not the right thing to do when it actually helps so I’m starting again. Daily. Five minute meals that cost a few dollars are kind of my jam. Especially when they are so interchangeable! 😍 ___ So many of you have shared how packed your schedules are, so I know you get it too! We want to eat healthier but think it costs an arm and a leg or tastes like cardboard. 🙅🏻‍♀️ My meals need FLAVOR y’all! And this one was 🙌🏼! ___ So the next time you’re in a bind, feeling rushed, or just plain “don’t feel like cooking all night,” heat up a little evoo, add in frozen veggies, a few handfuls of raw spinach, low cal sauce of your choice (I love liquid aminos!), rotisserie chicken, and spices. | DEAD COME TO LIFE | Spring is in the air in these parts 🎉🌸 I’m feeling a strange oneness with all these seemingly dead things around as I watch their buds slowly emerging, getting more prominent by the day, hinting they’ll soon be ready to burst forth in all their beautiful glory. It’s a little more gradual for me, I suppose, but I too feel more alive in my own body. 🧘🏻‍♀️Small changes are happening and there’s a palpable and growing awareness of the fibers of my muscles, the alignment of my bones, the loosening and strengthening of stiff joints. It’s a welcome change, and I too look forward to what’s to come this Spring. Late night workout session. I’ve been feeling very lazy and tired the last several days and I skipped my full body on Friday. Today I was still not feeling it but I decided to listen to some music while I played with Jacob and that did it. I put on some Latino Pop music and it got me in the mood 💃 haha Music is so powerful! 🎶 I love it! Now I’m exhausted but feeling soo good. Home from my Saturday morning gym session! Still trying to improve my post workout pose 🤦🏼‍♀️! I’m feeling good I can definitely feel with each workout my strength improves! I halved the commandos to 12 but managed to do them all in good time and I came off my knees into a full form push up for the lay down push ups. Seriously when I stated I couldn’t even get half way down on a knee push up. This is amazing motivation for me because I’m scared if I miss a session all my new found strength will abandon me! BBG ROUND 1 / WEEK 2 / FULL BODY WORKOUT I was a little disappointed today because I only go halfway through this workout out before having to stop because I felt really icky (periods are great for that). I didn't think that pushing myself would have been good and at least I got through each circuit once so we'll aim for better next time! Ah I’m feeling good this week, I got in legs today and LISS! Leaving me just one more resistance to do on the weekend! I’m going to do yoga tomorrow as my LISS because Thursdays I’m dead and do a HITT Sunday to finish strong 💪🏼. I think before xmas I stopped the program during bbg1 week 2 because I don’t remember doing some of the new moves! But that’s cool it’s exciting I’m moving forward! Week 2 of arms and abs done ✅ I went to bed way later than I should have done last night and getting up this morning was a struggle as a result. I ended up modifying more than I wanted to and was feeling pretty disappointed with how the workout went. When I mentioned this to my husband, he said, “you went to bed late, you didn’t get much sleep (our daughter is teething and don’t we know it!) and you got up before the rest of us when it was still dark to work out. Yes you modified but you still did it, I’d take that as a win!” So, today, I’m taking the win! BBG ROUND 1 / WEEK 2 / ARMS AND ABS Weildly enough I got a sudden burst of energy halfway through my workout just as I was about to start circuit one again and I did it three times in 7 minutes! And yet the first time I did it this morning I juuust made it through. Maybe it's because my muscles woke up?? I mean, I had just gotten out of bed... Who knows 🤷‍♂️ but it made me feel really fit! Resistance 5/36 ARMS & ABS #bbg2019 #sweat12wc #bbgweek2 Did this workout twice. First time yesterday using an optical wrist monitor and second time right now using a chest strap. I couldn’t believe this workout almost didn’t affect my heart rate because it absolutely didn’t feel like that 😅😅😅 Thanks to my hubby for pointing out the importance of using a chest strap for these resistance workouts.
