The full l-sit is an isometric hold that predominantly engages the core muscles. To properly perform the l-sit, you will need to:
1. Sit with your legs straight out in front of you and hands by your hips
2. Push through the ground (or parallette) and depress your shoulders until your butt is off the ground
3. Engage your core, hip flexors, and quad muscles to lift your legs.
The movement looks pretty simple, but if you're new to bodyweight training this can be very challenging. Wherever you are in your fitness journey, the l-sit will make a great addition to your workout regime. If you can't perform the full l-sit, give some of these progressions a shot! If you're advanced, use the l-sit as a core finisher.
