Got home from church and went to check for eggs and #Parmesan came to the doorway of the #ChickenPalace looking like something was seriously wrong. She was all fluffed out, waddling like a penguin and looked, well, not as lively and excited as usual. She hasn’t laid an egg for several days but today is the first time she seemed unwell. @bertsguns was quick to suggest she might be #EggBound. If we hadn’t been through this before we would not have been prepared and could have lost another one of our sweet girls! I quickly filled our sink halfway with warm water and placed her in it so her bottom half was submerged. I had to gently push her down a time or two to keep her in it but she seemed to enjoy the warmth and the conversation 😉. I kept her in the warm water for 15 minutes. This helps relax everything and take any swelling down. Think of it as a hot tub when your muscles are really sore! I put her in a pet carrier with food and water and then put her in a quiet dark room. I checked on her after an hour and as soon as I entered the room she started telling me all about it! I opened the door, she came out and as soon as I stopped videotaping she walked over and laid an egg! I was so happy and so was she!!! What a relief! She gets to stay inside for the night just to make sure she is good and dry before she goes back out. #Chicken and #Barbie have been singing the #EggSong trying to get us out there so we realize something is wrong! Our neighbor invited me over for a beer yesterday, and to meet his mother who is here from Guatemala. She doesn’t speak English or Spanish, so she hasn’t met many people or been very interested in doing too much. After a few beers, I invited them over so she could meet the animals. С переездом в дом я крепко подсела на травяные чаи - из того, что под руку попалось в огороде - мята, смородина, малина, травки всякие, ягодные чаи... . Скоро опять можно будет щипать, очень жду, а пока поделюсь своим любимым зимним чаем со специями. . Когда-то в Тануки делали чай, Сады Марракеша, я списала у них состав и дома часто завариваю. . Состав на втором фото. . В оригинале в рецепте - мята, корица, лимон, фенхель, бадьян, мед. Я еще добавляю кардамон (я его очень ❤️ и везде добавляю). Настаивать лучше подольше, вкус не сразу раскрывается. . Чай не согревающе-зимний, как например имбирный, а скорее свеже-пряный, подойдёт не только на зиму, а на все сезоны. . Предвижу вопросы про специи - я очень люблю в Москве магазинчики Индийские специи, беру в основном все там.
