I got some GOOD NEWS! I get to take the splint off!!! 🙌🙌🙌 I'm allowed to lift weights again as long as I'm careful not to go too heavy at first while I'm building back grip strength. Of course, I celebrated by heading to the gym for a very, very long missed back day!! Forgot how great the pump can get, even with light weight! 💪 I damaged the capsule on top of the tendon between my knuckles, so I still have to wear the splint while I'm teaching, shadowboxing, and sleeping to make sure it won't get split open while finishing the healing process (I think they're afraid I might throw on a pair of gloves if I leave it off in a boxing gym hahaha) But as long as it's feeling okay I can keep it off any other time. This is the first time I haven't said "I feel fine enough" and tried to jump back in. Listening to the doctor and not trying to push myself before I was fully recovered has paid off. I'm about 3 weeks ahead of schedule. 🙌

Gedanklich ist euer Arm garnicht vorhanden und der Lat führt das Gewicht. If you are too impatient (like me), ➡️swipe right for a description of each part of the movement. ⁣Ignore the facial expression in the last one 😂 ⁣ I would like to highlight 2 🔑 parts of this movement below: ⁣ ❇️1️⃣ Hip Hinge: This is essential to many compound lifts such as the deadlift, squat, barbell row, kettle swing, etc. Properly performed, it protects the knees, lower back, hips, and ankles during the squat and sets up the movement and joint mechanics 🔧 for all these movements. While standing, press the top of your fingers 🤚 into your hip crease and push tour hip back while keeping everything else straight. This will essentially cause you to lean forward while keeping your legs straight. ⁣ ❇️2️⃣ Anterior Pelvic Tilt: This is probably the most ‼️important aspect to protecting your lower back during deadlifts and any rowing movement. When people hurt their lower back during a deadlift or row, I can almost always trace it back to not having this. The easiest way to properly do this is to cue yourself to stick your belly out as much as you can, so that it creates that dip/U dip in your lower back. As long as you maintain this during a deadlift or rowing movement, your lower back will be protected 💯 . ⁣ ⁣. ⁣. .
