. . . . . #sonya7iii #sonyalpha #sonyalphaimages #culturadelviaggio #PassaggioEritreaEtiopia #ethiopia #axum #tigray #landoforigins #africa #ReportingAfrica #photojournalism #photoreportage #photo #fotografiadiviaggio #fotoreportage #fotografia #travelreporter #travel at Axum, Ethiopia

✓✓Repost @fidelino27 with @repostsaveapp ・・・ ✓✓Repost @sissaylemn with @repostsaveapp ・・・ In the National Army Museum at 4.30pm I received the honour of a private view of the lock of hair taken from Emperor Tewdros. The Ethiopian Embassy here in London , represented by H.E Fesseha Shawel Gebre, Ethiopian Ambassador to the UK and Ethiopian government represented by H.E. Dr Hirut Kassaw Wondim, Minister of Culture and Tourism, have done an outstanding job. I arrived at 4pm but had to leave at 5pm for a BBC commitment in front of a live audience at Salisbury Cathedral amongst my artwork "Magniloquent Eloquence". I am on the train from Waterloo right now. Being at this historic event at the National Army Museum was like being back in Addis. I love to be loved and equally to give love in return. This lock of hair opens a new chapter in the journey home for treasured Ethipian artefacts and sacred texts imprisoned in British Museums. Ethiopian heritage and conservation is a live issue in Ethiopia and perfectly placed for development while receiving these essential parts of Ethiopia. This lock of hair could be symbolic of a consolidation of "hope" in Ethiopia. This is the beginning of the return of Prince Alemayehu so he can be returned with the Protocol the Prince of an Emperor of our great country deserves. We will line the streets of Addis when Alemayehu returns. We will name a coffee to him! We will unite & ululate. The newspapers will ring out the story throughout the country. He was never happy here. He was a forced diaspora. They cut his legs and told him to run. So pray for the Embassy & government to continue with the fortitude and patience that has brought us this far. In my lifetime the stolen prince must be returned. . . . ✓✓Follow @fidelino27 . . . . . #Ethiopia #coffee #coffelover #coffeeshop #coffeeaddict #ethiopiancoffee #sidamocoffee #likeforlikes #arbicacoffee #proudhabesha #habeshacoffee #traditionalcoffee #adissababa #Eritrea #asmara #Axum #Gonder #habeshastyle #instalike #insta4like @reviewethio @habeshaexperience @habeshasface @ethio_2019 @mybeautifulblackancestry @ethio.jerry @yarada_lijoch

Negissa Hotel in Axum "Aksum is a city in northern Ethiopia. It's known for its tall, carved obelisks, relics of the ancient Kingdom of Aksum. Most are in the northern Stelae Park, including a huge fallen pillar, now in pieces. Mode of transport while trekking around tombs and ancient sites of Axum inxlusing Queen Sheba’s bath (picture 5) - obelisk built as Stelae memorials to high ranking society and royalty, topped with a half mood crescent while the height represents their closeness to god and multistory palaces. The largest one was never raised as it fell the day they tried and hit a large stone roof. The one with supports is actually reinforced as it has its foundation shaken when they raised its matching counterpart when it was retrieved from Rome after it was taken during the Italian facist occupation of #Ethiopia in early 20thC. Here is a picture of his Royal Highness. Emperor Yohannes iv all the way to the 👈 left. World heads of state in 1889, first from the left Yohannes IV He was the emperor of Ethiopia and the last king of the Tigrinya tribe. Try to understand those were the most powerful people at that time. And in the middle was the most powerful Queen Victoria. It's amazing to see a Tigrinya king standing next to them. #eritrea #ethiopia #axum #tigrinya #tigray #proud #history #vintage #royal #emperor #king #queenvictoria

Zoskales (many Scholars Identified him with ZaHaqala)was a king of the Axumite Empire (present day Eritrea and Tigray). He ruled in the First Century . The Periplus of the Erythraean Sea mentions Zoskales as the Ruler of the Port of Adulis (Eritrea) and the ruler of the coastal Region as stated by Periplus 5: ...from the Moschophagoi to the Barbaria ... Thus an area of Ptolemais Theron to the North Coast of today's Somalia meant. Adulis whose Port was most Important for remote Trade between the Mediterranean and India... People of Eritrea and Tigray be Proud of your Ancestors you have every Reason ! 🇪🇷 #history #ancient #port #adulis #kingdom at Asmara, Eritrea

#nürnberg #Nuernberg #nuremberg #fürth #fuerth #franken #bayern #deutschland #aksum #axum #Tigray #addisababa #addisababa #Äthiopien #aethiopien #aethiopia #ethiopia #world #welt #afrika #hawelti #hawelti_ev #spender #tictoys

Debre Bizen Monastery: The City in the Clouds top of Mount Bizen where the Ancient Bizen Monastery lies like an Eagle's Nest. Perched on a Mountain at a Pinnacle of 2450 Meters above the Sea level, the Monastery of Debre Bizen was founded in the 1350s by Filipos. The Monastery Commands Magnificent Views of the Surrounding Hills and all the Way Down to the Line of the Red Sea Coast. The Atmosphere of the Settlement, Surrounded by grove of rare indigenous Trees is pious medieval. At Dawn a carpet of glistening white cloud often hides the Earth below where the Village of Nefasit with its yellow and green domed Mosques and a Coptic Church nestles at the base of the Mountain. The only way for Visitors to make the not so easy climb to the top is on foot but the reward for those who endure that grueling climb is a spectacular view of the surrounding barren Mountain. The Monastery is a collection of Pink Granite buildings cut into the sides of huge smooth Rocks. For centuries it has survived as a centre of Christian Prayer and Learning in spite of invading armies and Religious conflict from that of Somali Hordes of Ahmed Gragn to the Derg Ethiopian Regime. To the East is the modern Church and adjoining it is a House to some 1000 Ancient Manuscripts for which Debre Bizen is justifiably Famous. Some of these Manuscripts include the most extraordinary Bible dating back to the 14th century to the Time of Fillipos. Another exquisite Manuscript is the lost Biblical Book of Enoch. The Manuscripts are examples of the finest medieval Workmanship meticulously written in the liturgical Language of Geez in Red or Black . Debre Bizen has devised its own Calendar invented by a certain Monk called Ghebremeskel and known as Hasabe Bizen (The Thinking of Bizen). It has 35 Columns and Hebrew and Christian Calendars as Basis. The Calendar has not been used since 1500 AD . Legend has it that Abuna (Father) Fillipos moved the Coptic Religious Community up the Mountain from Nefasit because he preferred 4th e Roar of Lions which at that Time inhabited the wild Mountains. Pilgrims and Visitors are Housed in a Guesthouse with arched Doors. #debrebizen #eritrea #monastery #church at Nefasit
