On Monday we celebrated the SCORE Corps winners of 2018. The SCORE Corps is our peer-to-peer employee recognition program that allows City employees to commend their colleagues for demonstrating our Core Values of Service excellence, Continuous improvement, Open and transparent, Renewal, and Equitable (SCORE). Each month, several employees are recognized, with a first place winner receiving special accolades. The SCORE Corps Awards, held last night, celebrated our 2018 first place winners. In addition, Mayor Dan Devine, Common Council members and City Administrator Rebecca Grill honored select employees from this group with first, second, and third place awards to recognize their outstanding commitment to the Core Values. Anne Lopez at West Allis Police Department took first, Sarah Poppie at West Allis Public Library took second, and Steve Vogel with the Department of Public Works took third.
Employees also selected their "fan favorites," or those employees who they felt most personified the Core Values. Nick Cerwin in the Attorney's Office and Jenny Kosek in Communications tied for this award.
Finally, Jon Kuzma in the City's IT Department, Irene Kopplin from West Allis Health Department, and Stephen Solomon from Engineering were awarded "Above and Beyond" awards for special services performed outside of work hours to better serve our customers. Congratulations to all!
