We often forget that we are nature. Nature is not something seperate from us. So when we say or feel that we have lost our connection to nature we have simply lost our connection to ourselves. .
We’re all born to occupy, serve and nurture our place within the ecosystem of the universe. But these days we have come to perceive existence as something to consume and use, rather than to truly BE in and appreciate. Leaving us disconnect with nature and hence disconnected with ourselves.
Many of us aren’t aware of the incredible healing power of Mother Nature. Research has shown that exposure to nature can reduce high blood pressure, respiratory tract & cardiovascular illnesses, improve vitality and mood, benefit issues of mental wellbeing such as anxiety & depression, and restore attention capacity and mental fatigue. .
I have always been drawn to the beauty and calm energy nature offers. I know it to be a wonderful healer and shelter within my own life. When I am feeling lost, out of balance, upset or exhausted I will get myself out into nature as quick as I can and just allow myself to soak in the surroundings. It’s a uplace where I can sit quietly and just be, allowing me to reconnect with my higher self. Somewhere I can restore, replenish and rejuvenate my entire being.
If you simply need a reset, as I often do, switch off all technology, unplug yourself from the world and spend some time in nature. Use the healing power of Mother Nature to assist in healing parts of yourself when you need it.
Don’t wait to become sick or unwell before you start incorporating the healing powers of nature in your life. Make it a priority to step into nature daily. You don’t need to head to a high mountain or drive anywhere far to enjoy the great outdoors, you can simply swap having lunch in your office to stepping out and enjoying lunch in the park, or spend time with family & friends somewhere green and glorious rather than somewhere grey and gadget orientated.
Become conscious of smelling the roses, touching a tree, walking barefoot in the grass or even stepping into some squishy mud - my favourite!
Happy Thursday ♥ at Mother Nature
