Today something very beautiful happened! I was working in the garden on the playground where the kids play outside and suddenly a child came to me. He had 2 small buttercups in his hands and told me that they where for me with a kind smile and shiny eyes on his face, he putted them in my hands and i genuinely still amazed by his kind act thanked him for that. After giving me the flowers, i saw him running away to some other place on the playground but unfortunately he hadn’t seen that another kid was also running over the playground and he came in collision with that kid. As i was still watching this situation from a distance i saw how the kid that gave me the buttercups gave the other kid a super big hug, not just a big hug… But a genuine compassionate hug! I was so amazed by this that it really made my day! It’s beautiful how we can live together as human beings if we live closely in alignement with how the kid was acting in this example. If we are a bit kinder, a bit more compassionate and a bit more forgiving towards each others, then our errors become ‘little happy accidents!’ And then loving kindness and compassion become a normality instead of a rarity! Don’t go looking for truth, just don’t. I’m now inundated in information regarding endocrine disrupters and fish. Fish exposed to municipal waterways get engulfed with chemicals like atrazine, BPA, and benzene because the most commonly used pesticides in America just run off into the groundwater and absorb into our system of water. Fish out in the oceans, lakes, and rivers get exposed to micro plastics and have been shown to prefer Microplastics because they smell like food due to the fact that many contaminants and fungal life stick to the plastics, leading to a high concentration of potential hormone disruptors. A study over 10 years ago found 1 in 4 fish of all sampled to contain plastics. I am sure that the numbers are probably worse now. If they don’t contain plastic debris that act as estrogen mimickers, than they probably have been exposed to municipal water aka death water. To the world, you have it all - the dream life complete with family, health, career, influence, success and joy. — To you on a good day, you are grateful for everything because you know how blessed you are for every opportunity, every person who has believed in you, loved you, cared for you and supported you unconditionally, for every positive that has come from a negative, for the strength and courage to keep going to fulfil your purpose and leave a legacy. — To you on a challenging day, you feel overwhelmed, lonely, disappointed, depleted of energy, faith and trust, you question Others’ loyalty and integrity and second guess yourself and doubt your resilience because you have let disempowering thoughts take control. You let others opinions of you and others behaviours towards you dull your sparkle. But you feel bad you feel this way, because you should be stronger than that. — Having insight and knowing when to take a break, and when to reach out are so important in our self care. — And being aware of others around you and being mindful that everyone is fighting their own battles, no matter how perfect their life looks, and reaching out to them to show some compassion and kindness or an open ear goes a long way. — I personally have been riding this roller coaster that keeps ascending at a hundred miles an hour full steam ahead and the further it goes, the level of responsibility increases, the more sacrifices I have to make, the harder I work and the closer I feel to crashing at times. Whilst I live to work hard and my passion for what I do fuels the engine, I do have moments where I want to pull the emergency stop lever because I honestly feel overwhelmed. And all I want to do is not much at all. But I look at those around me and see my reasons for not quitting and for me, after I cannot pretend to be strong and composed anymore, I have my rants and tantrums, then I take a quick breather and return. Recovery. . All Addictions are Anesthetics. Ways of coping with the things that cause us pain. Even if it’s only brief temporary relief. When we find the painkillers that work and we form habits around them to perpetuate the feeling or lack of feeling we desire. To numb the fear, depression, anxiety or stress? . These painkillers come in all different shapes and sizes to match our ever expanding list of Traumas. Some painkillers look like hobbies. Video Games, Television, Running, Rock Climbing, Fad Diets, Weightlifting. Others painkillers are substances like Alcohol, Nicotine, Marijuana, Cocaine, MDMA, LSD, Methamfetaimne, Heroine. Don’t forget the ones that are actually sold to us as painkillers. The line between hobby and addiction is pretty thin in spots but if your hobby is creating pain in someone’s life take a good hard look at it. . Workaholics can be just as self-destructive as Alcoholics. They both can end up in the hospital but recovery isn’t in a medical procedure. There are no magic pills. This kind of healing comes from a daily commitment to maintain awareness, community/group support, professional help from trained councillors and therapists and a deep desire to find out why. . an important lesson I’m learning through therapy + continuous inquiry + self love : you do not have to make yourself a victim in order to be seen, heard, and loved. 🙏🏼 You don’t have to be afraid of happiness. You are not your trauma or your past. Your identity, who you really are, is so much more than what has happened to you and you don’t have to self destruct in order for someone to pay attention to what’s happening. The comfort in clinging to that old way is hollow. ✌🏼 This is a reminder that I get to choose to start again and rediscover myself through a lens that isn’t clouded by depression or anxiety or a lack of self worth. How amazing it is that I survived everything I thought I wouldn’t. Can we allow ourselves to just *flow*? ✨What does it mean to just *be*? 🌱Can we 🌬let go of the expectations we push upon ourselves and others? Can we allow ourselves to *fail*? Can we smile at the story we’ve burdened ourselves with? Can we *lovingly* hold our pain, sit with it and let go of “should be’s” and “ought to be’s” for a moment? Can we scream and not be ok for once, too? Cry, reach out and tell our story? Break our cycle of loneliness with our shadow sides and, please, just let them *be* there too? Being human means to be human. We all embody the full spectrum of life. No human emotion, no human feeling, no human thought, no behavioral tendency and fallacy is alien to us.
