"Once upon a time there was a silence that dreamed of becoming a song, and then I found you, and now everything is music."
Laini Taylor, Muse of Nightmares.
I would read a billion page book if Lazlo Strange was in it, and I read this sequel so quickly!
The problem with this book is that I had too many high expectations. "Strange the Dreamer" was my first read of 2019, and I fell utterly in love with that book. However, so many things in the sequel felt like page fillers, the story dragged a bit too much, and I expected something more. It just lacked....something. I liked the new characters, but I didn't like how the book would jump back and forth to different storylines when I was so much more invested in the other one. I loved the little references about Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and something tells me that Laini Taylor is planning to write a crossover, and i'm really curious about it! As for the writing, it was magical as always. 💓 (📷 @fix13)
