Seeing a snowstorm in the desert was a first for us. It’s amazing that with all the different colors this landscape has to offer, they always match. . . #snow #desert #kidstravel #arizona #explore #travelphotography #road #storm #grandconyon #amazing #getlost #getoutstayout #roadwarriors360 #rvlife #exploring #travelgram #travelmore #utah #amoungthewild #blogger #takethekids #takethelongwayhome #tinyhouse #minimalist #livesimple #rvliving #amoungus #rei1440project at Page, Arizona

The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. — John 1:9-14 🌟. . #dtlabnyc #receive #God #coming #everyone #light #believe #amoungus #glory

This is the view a few steps away from our tent in Geraldine Lakes backcountry Campground in Jasper NP. We were lucky enough to have it to ourselves this past June, and it was a treat to get into the backcountry of the Rockies. We spent our day exploring up to the third and fourth Lakes and then up the side of a mountain to get a view of the valley. I’ll include some of the videos in my Stories today. If you have any Qs, lemme know in the comments 🙋🏻 Taken June 2018 Nikon D5500 Tokina 11-20mm f9 1/80s ISO 100 ~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~ #geraldinelakes #jaspercanada #jaspernationalpark #jasper #explorejasper #travelalberta #explorecanada #albertaviews #canadaparadise #paradisecanada #tourcanada #explorerockies #canadasworld #imagesofcanada #sharecangeo #wonderfuldestinations #earthoutdoors #earthpix #adventurenthusiasts #wildernessculture #hikingtheglobe #instagood #earthfocus #bns_earth #splendid_mountains #thediscoverer #nature_perfection #adventureclub #AmoungUs #AllAboutAdventures @discoverearth @thediscoverer at Jasper National Park

One of the highlights of last spring was the hike up past Helen Lake to Cirque Peak. Not only was the scramble up to the peak super fun, but the trail back down was beautiful in the afternoon sunshine. Anyone up for Cirque Peak next June? I think it would make an excellent annual trip 😄 Taken June 2018 Nikon D5500 Nikkor 18-140mm f14 ISO100 ~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~<>~ #helenlaketrail #banffcanada #banffnationalpark #banff #explorebanff #travelalberta #explorecanada #albertaviews #canadaparadise #paradisecanada #tourcanada #explorerockies #canadasworld #imagesofcanada #sharecangeo #wonderfuldestinations #earthoutdoors #earthpix #adventurenthusiasts #wildernessculture #hikingtheglobe #instagood #earthfocus #bns_earth #splendid_mountains #thediscoverer #nature_perfection #adventureclub #AmoungUs #AllAboutAdventures at Banff National Park

Today my Little guy is 7 weeks old! He’s not sure how he feels about sunglasses, but he seems to be loving mountain tops 🙌🏻 Mountain adventures definitely have new meaning and purpose for me, as I think about exposing my son to all the things I love in this world. One day he will get to explore on his own, and find his own passion! But for now, his momma is gonna lug him up and down as many mountains as I can, until I can’t carry him anymore....but at the rate this guy is growing, I’m sure it will be far too soon! 📷@powphotog . . . . . . . #ergoadventures #hikingmomma #mountainbaby #hikingwithkids #optoutside #canmore #kananaskis #mybanff #themountainsarecalling #hike365 #liveoutthere #imagesofcanada #outdoorsjournal #amoungus #getoutside #girlgetoutside #wondermore #explorecanada #mecnation #wildernessculture #choosemountains #worldmountains #wildchild at Kananaskis Country

I opened up my laptop for the first time in a looong time. My intention was to start writing about my pregnancy journey. Somehow being pregnant has made me want to share my story. Or maybe the writing of a journey is cathartic in itself, and that’s what I seek 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think on some level we all want to share our life, and connect with people over our experiences. What to share, and how much to share? Still haven’t figured those things out. If you know me, I’m not exactly shy, and definitely prone to honesty....😬 • Instead of writing, I looked through photos #classic because the album of Mt. Smuts was open on the home screen....and she’s a beautiful mountain 😍 Climbing it the first time was blissfully exciting. At the time, I was skilled enough to climb it, but a little ignorant, having not yet experienced the harsh reality of a mountain accident. Climbing through the clouds that day wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but it sure made me happy! • Maybe I’ll start a blog....no mom has ever done that lol 😂 Or maybe I’ll only ever get as far as looking at pictures when I open my laptop #staytuned • 📷@lucas_really at Kananaskis Country

Nearing the summit, thinking about the cheese in my backpack #goatgouda to be specific. A lot of my steps up and down the mountain are spent thinking about snacks, even more so these days🤰🏻 Anyone else talk about food on the trail? It seems to be a consistent topic of conversation for me, pregnant or not 😄 Also at this point I was hating the fact I carried snowshoes all the way to the top, and didn’t use them 😐 Hopefully we won’t need those contraptions again anytime soon! 📷@powphotog . . . . . . #littlelougheed #22weeks #mountainmomma #hikelikeagirl #canmore #optoutside #hiking #kananaskis #mybanff #themountainsarecalling #freshairandfreedom #hike365 #camp4pix #liveoutthere #imagesofcanada #outdoorsjournal #amoungus #getoutside #girlgetoutside #wondermore #explorecanada #mecnation #wildernessculture #choosemountains #worldmountains #wildchild at Kananaskis Country

Thankful for jackets that still fit 🙌🏻 Human-building takes a lot of energy, consequently getting to the top of anything is a slow endeavour at the moment, which I’ll admit can be frustrating at times. But, I feel better for having gotten out, and doing as much as my body will allow me to do, at whatever pace that may be. Thank you body 💪🏻 🙏🏻 #humanbuilding #24weeks #6months #mountainsfuelmysoul #slowandsteady . . . . . . #jewelpass #barrierlake #canmore #optoutside #hiking #kananaskis #mybanff #themountainsarecalling #freshairandfreedom #hike365 #camp4pix #liveoutthere #imagesofcanada #outdoorsjournal #amoungus #getoutside #girlgetoutside #wondermore #explorecanada #mecnation #wildernessculture #choosemountains #worldmountains #wildchild at Barrier Lake

If the sun could just come out for a little bit this long weekend, that would be lovely 🤞🏻☀️ Smiles are way easier when it’s sunny. And it’s way easier to get into the mountains if it’s not snowing constantly... I’d kinda like to eat some mini eggs with a view #weekendwishes 📷@powphotog . . . . . . #littlelawson #morninglight #sunrise #hiking #kananaskis #mybanff #themountainsarecalling #freshairandfreedom #hike365 #camp4pix #liveoutthere #imagesofcanada #outdoorsjournal #amoungus #getoutside #girlgetoutside #wondermore #explorecanada #mecnation #wildernessculture #choosemountains #worldmountains #wildchild at No More Snow

During the first 40 million or so years of trees populating the earth their “wood” was not biodegradable. The first tree like organisms on earth were the Lepidodendron. They weren’t technically trees but offshoots of lycopods, and they flourished during the Carboniferous period. At some point these early ancestors developed a new type of structural material made up of lignin and with lignin these early plants would make their first type of wood. Initially this new material wasn’t edible and near impossible for organisms at the time to convert into an energy source. So although these trees would die nothing could break down their material which caused a kind of ice age to occur during that period. Finally, however, a fungus belonging to the class Agaricomycetes, a distant cousin of button mushrooms, did find a way to break down lignin. All the fungi today that can digest wood (and a few that can't) are the descendants of that enterprising fungus. The wood decay brought on by this fungus played a crucial role in reversing the loss of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and bringing about the end of the Carboniferous period. #nowyouknow #andknowingishalfthebattle #fungus #amoungus #humpdaymotivation #iffunguscanfigureouthowtomakethingsrotthensocanyou #showthemwhatyourot
