Meet day is Sunday. How do I peak on meet day? Circa Max. . There are a number of explanations of this and there have been alterations; but I recommend finding a a Circa Max explanation that works for you, and using it. . For me, how I peak on meet day is starting the Circa Max phase 21 days out. 21 days out I do the heaviest squat I’ve ever done; this is on a below parallel box squat, 60% bar weight 40% band tension. Why is this the hardest? First, you lose kinetic energy when you sit on the box plus you’re outrunning growing (heavy) band tension. My attempt this cycle was 335lbs at the top. . 14 days out I hit 80-85% on my squat, plus, no deadlifting past this point. . 10 days out is the last max effort bench; floor press. . The week of the meet is focused on mobility and recovery allowing for the delay in transformation. . It is important for the body AND central nervous system to be fresh. . Now, this works for us and most of my PL competitor clients. I'm not working out as long or as much this week since I compete Saturday. So I figured I would spend a little extra time on meal prep and get a little more creative. Brown rice meatballs and shrimp tacos! @jamiebruce3 thanks for the shrimp recipe! Prepping your food is key because if you don't make the time to prep you'll eventually make an excuse to not eat or eat something convenient. . ⚠️PREPPING AIN'T EASY‼️⚠️ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖ Prepping is hard, prepping is not for the light hearted or the weak❗️ WEAK? #VFitByDrMatt 💯 #3DaysOut 🙌🏼🙏🏼 || Today, I ran 2 of my amazing clients, Dave Wendt Jr. & his wife, Debbie Wendt, through their private training session; BUT, this particular session was very special to me, because it was the FIRST session, of countless more to come, that I COACHED in my V-Fit Premier Fitness & Wellness Institute in Tulare, CA! And, to have accomplished this feat, I’m overwhelmed w/ #gratitude, beyond measure: To have Dave & Debbie be 2 of the very first clients to "break in" the facility & exude only the most positive, uplifting, & empowering energy & vibes w/in the V-Fit walls is extremely fitting. You see, without these 2 in my corner & by my side, I would not have been able to construct, BUILD, & open up such an incredible & unique facility at this point in time. These two, among select others who I will be certain to highlight across the next few days, were instrumental in affording me the amazing opportunity to make my dreams a reality. For this & for their unconditionally supportive & loving presence in my life, I could never truly repay them; but, I know that I will spend the rest of my life striving to repay them, especially as we continue to build on, what has already been for this Power Couple, a full year of private training/work together, as coach & clients. Their transformations have been nothing less than astounding, in a very similar way that their nephew's has been too: Brian Wendt (my client of two+ years; Student-Athlete/Senior at Tulare Union High School), who is a full-ride athletic scholarship recipient & football commit for the United States Air Force Academy! Peak Week Day 5: We are now on day four of low carb and I am feeling it. Can't wait for some carbs tomorrow! I would not be able to do this without my number one supporter @benkrane. He is keeping me sane these last few days of peak week. . Today I have two cardio sessions and I am training delts/chest/tris. Going to be challenging. . In other news - I am so excited for the stage I can't sleep - literally. I am so consumed by thoughts of show day that I couldn't fall asleep until after midnight last night - which is pretty ridiculous because I usually go to sleep around 8:30. Any helpful tips would be greatly appreciated! . Just got in bed after a good cardio superset weights session! Waking up tommorow and the dehydration process starts! First time I will of experienced this so keen to see the results and how I cope mentally and physically with that added to the no carb diet also! Im 2 days out tomorrow and yes im tired from working and driving and doing my 2 sessions a day but im almost there and cant wait to see the results and enjoy the day and say. #TransformationTuesday from August ➡️December: exactly 4 months and 10 lbs difference. - The first picture was the package I brought to my first show of the season at #3daysout, no peaking or any kind of manipulation to my physique. I was so proud of this look that I busted ass for all summer, and looking back at pics from this time makes me pretty emotional 😭 - I could have just posted this picture, but the second picture is where I am now, and I’m no less proud of that same body. I miss the shreds A LOT, but what these four months have taught me is that there is a time and place for them. - Right now, where I’m at is eating big, lifting big, and just being in love with training again because I actually have energy and look forward to every session 🙌 I don’t always look in the mirror and love every part I see, but that mental part is just as much part of the journey as the physical part is 🙏 - #gainingweightiscool #mostofthecalorieswentstraighttomyRBFtho 😑

Almost a month from competition now and I have yet to finish editing the entire trip to victoria Texas, El Paso Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Las Vegas and all. Smh 3days Out....
