Join us for an afternoon of performances inspired by Everything You Ever at Women and Their Work. This Sat Dec 8, 2018, beginning 2pm. Performances by Deja Morgan, Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear, & Daniel Sullivan, one hundred and ninety-three Deja Morgan is an actress, writer, and student activist based in Austin, Texas. She recently appeared as the lead character, Cherry Henry, in the world premiere of Dr. Lisa B. Thompson’s Monroe at the Austin Playhouse. Other notable credits include Romeo and Juliet, Satchel Paige and the Kansas City Swing, and Gypsy. Morgan has also worked as a featured extra in the “We Are” Film Series directed by B.B. Araya. In the spring of 2018, she created a devised performance titled “Back 2 Reality” as a part of the St. Edward’s Theatre Department annual solo thesis project, ‘Objectivity’.While navigating her everyday life, academics, and working in predominantly white spaces, Deja processes the mental, emotional, and physical effects of microaggressions, an issue so pervasive yet so undetected. Daniel Sullivan is an actor who has appeared in the u.s. premiere of 'mouthful', directed by alexandra bassiakou shaw. other credits include his work in several local and original projects with transit theatre troupe, a student-run theatre club; these include: the fate changers, robot songs, and tick tock. he created a devised performance titled ' ', as part of the b.f.a in acting solo thesis his third year in which he played with a 50 ft extension cord. he's currently a manager at the fomo factory in downtown austin, and works as a costume designer for theatre and film." 2pm to 3pm, Women and Their Work, 1710 Lavaca St., Austin, TX @stedwardsu @seuartshum #stedwardsstudents #actors #performance #art #everthingyouever #womenandtheirwork #theater at Women & Their Work Gallery

Friday, December 7, 7-10pm EXHIBITION DATES November 30, 2018 – January 5, 2019 The Matter at Hand is a two-person exhibition featuring the work of Darcie Book and Sarah Hirneisen @sarahhirneisen . Both artists push the boundaries of traditional art making techniques. Through materiality and process, they manipulate the familiar into unanticipated forms. Diaspora Talk Series: Afro-Local ATX: Embracing Austin's African Diaspora:: "This is Everything;: or Why I Call Art Making Practice,” Wednesday, November 28 at 6:00pm Gordon White Building (GWB), 2.206, UT. 210 24TH ST W, Austin. Tammie Rubin will discuss her current sculptural works, which reference of The Great Migration, during which more than 6 million African-Americans moved from the rural South to the urban Midwest as well as the West and East coasts of the United States between 1910 and 1970. Look for these water 💦 monsters around campus. This one is near Andre Hall and four or five others are nearer the dorms. . Fill up your water bottle! Boil in the common areas in the dorms. Water is limited to purchasing 4 cases/liters at a time. at St. Edward's University
