This ANZAC Day please remember;
We commemorate ANZAC Day, it is not celebrate. Please don’t say “Happy Anzac Day” it’s a wake. People have passed away for us to have this freedom we hold so dear.
Today marks the 104th anniversary of the landing of ANZAC Soldiers, Sailors and Medical personnel on Gallipoli.
It's a bugle and not a trumpet and the Last Post is sounded, not played.
Not every serviceman/woman was a "soldier", some were Sailors, Airmen and Nursing Sisters too. Please take the time to ascertain what service each military person served in and use the correct terminology, it does mean a lot!
Please don't even try to draw parallels between civilians and veterans and military personnel past or present….after all veterans have and military personnel continue to put their lives in the harm’s way to protect their fellow service personnel, flag and Country.
To all of my Military friends and family whether still serving or not, thank you for what you have and will do to keep your country safe, please stay safe, enjoy your day, be proud of what you have accomplished and don't let anyone rain on your parade.
