I have specialized in #POSTURE for the last 13 years. It was also one of the main reasons why I started @balanswellnessstudio in 2010. I wanted to spread awareness to posture, and educate on how much it affects our mental and physical health.
I have seen people’s depression and anxiety go away by improving their posture! Poor posture compromises our breath, which triggers the flight-or-flight response, which ultimately elevates the stress hormones in our body. Over time, that’s enough to cause anxiety, stress, and/or depression.
And of course, neck and back pain, which seem to have become the norm in today’s world. They are affecting many people often young in age, but can be prevented if we learn how to use and move our bodies properly.
Who knew posture played such a big part in how we feel everyday?🤷♀️
Before Balans, I was working in conventional gyms, and there was very little focus, if any, on form and quality of movement. Or how the exercise made the person feel. It was always a numbers game. Chasing the numbers at the expense of form lead to poor results, and often injuries.
I decided to make a difference. As part of the Balans lifestyle, I created a unique treatment, aka “Postural Therapy”, which combines movement and manual techniques to restore and optimize posture and body functioning.
