Miss Minerva, peacefully looking outside through the entry window by the staircase...you will note that she found a nice confortable seat on the curtains of the entry door! 😁🤗😘 via my Facebook page www.facebook.com/mamaisonalafrancaiseoldstonesngardens #winter #homesweethome #maison #stairway #staircase #basket #trolley #white #skate #cats #blackcat #minerva #curtain #home #french #frenchstyle #hiver #chat #chatnoir #escalier #panier #mamaisonalafr_oldstonesngardns at Bretagne, France

Flamenküches and mulled wine... one of my Winter favourite! ⛸🛷❄ Flamenküches: French baguette, heavy fresh cream, then onions, lardons (bacon cubes), pepper, all spices, gruyère. Impingement oven and grill 220°, 10 minutes. Mulled wine: well that's tricky for me to advise about the choice of wine because I'm in France and we have so many French wines. I usually use 'Vin de Pays'*, good red wine yet not expensive ,between 3 and 5 euros -in French supermarkets- , add water -fill the bottle of wine with water-, I use 2 bottles of wine for 6/8 persons and fill one with water twice. A pinch of pepper. All spices. Cinnamon powder. Vanilla powder. 2 or 3 cardamom seeds. 2 stars of Badian. 2 or 3 cloves. 3 soup spoons of brown sugar 2 soup spoons of honey. 1 orange. 1/2 lemon (I use 1 lemon for 2 bottles). Voilà 😀 *The French Vin de pays classification is used for French table wines produced in a particular area and meeting certain standards of quality, such as geographic origin, yield, alcohol value, superior to vin de table. via my Facebook page www.facebook.com/mamaisonalafrancaiseoldstonesngardens #mulledwine #vinchaud #winter #hiver #homesweethome #home #maison #homemade #wine #spices #flammenkuchen #bacon #lardons #cinamon #canelle #badian #badiane #french #frenchstyle #france at Bretagne, France

My "everyday life in Brittany, France" phone pix of the day: in the 'rue du Châpitre' in my City Rennes. From the late Middle Ages to the end of the Ancien Régime, a multitude of half-timbered houses were built in Brittany, and in particular in Rennes, which has kept hold of 286 of these architectural gems (1000 after WW2). Colourful 500 years heritage to soak up on a tour of the historic centre of Brittany's capital. via my Facebook page www.facebook.com/oldstonesandgardensvieillespierresetjardins #instagram #picoftheday #photography #chateau #brittany #instapic #castle #roadtrip #road #home #travel #instaflower #homemade #french #frenchstyle #postcard #hiver #winter #blogger #influencer #instablogger #visiting #instatravel #trip #maison #tourism #instatraveling #timberframe at Bretagne, France

Bonjour et BIENVENUE to all my new followers! 🤗 Here's a wee piece of introduction: I’m French, I'm 53 and I live in Brittany, Bretagne in French: it is the blessed Celtic region of France, located in the Northwestern peninsula of continental Europe in Northwestern France. It is a windswept rural region, where old quaint villages, châteaux and rugged coastlines have for long been closely associated with the Matter of Britain and King Arthur. I share my own everyday little world. On the menu: my home in France and photos and videos of my wanderings around and abroad: châteaux, castles & cottages, quaint villages, never-ending seashores, lochs, wild landscapes... Merci so much for all the love and support I have had from you!!! More than anything, I love getting questions or feedback, so keep in mind all your comments mean much to me. Much love from the shores of France, Au Revoir et à bientôt ! *Myriam* 😘 🇫🇷 #instagram #picoftheday #photography #chateau #brittany #instapic #castle #roadtrip #instagardenlovers #gardens #home #travel #instaflower #homemade #french #frenchstyle #blogger #influencer #instablogger #visiting #instatravel #trip #greenery #tourism #instatraveling #vintagehome #maison #antiques #shabbychic #homedesign at Bretagne, France

As Instagram displays only small pix, I'm sharing the very same pic thrice... featuring the family Louis XV mirror with a pair of family Louis XVI period -c. 1780- medallion cabriolets. I very much enjoy mixing modern design with antique pieces, so I added a pair of simple Ikea lamps. I have so many family heirlooms that I have no room for big modern furnitures so I just add touches here and there. 😘🇫🇷 via my Facebook page www.facebook.com/mamaisonalafrancaiseoldstonesngardens #mirror #antiques #heirlooms #cabriolet #france #winter #homesweethome #maison #home #french #frenchstyle #hiver #candlestick #candles #cushion #mamaisonalafr_oldstonesngardns at Bretagne, France

There's nothing like a Nativity scene to warm my heart at Christmas time. The crèche is the very first decoration to be set in my home for Christmas, generally on December 1st and the last one to be taken down, following the french tradition on February 2nd just before the 'Chandeleur', Candlemas. I set my crèche on my side chest again this year, so that the angels of the 18th century Venetian mirror could be part of the nativity scene... It's a tradition from Provence to make a crèche in France. All these Nativity figurines were hand-made of terra-cotta by craftsmen, in Aubagne, the Capital of "Santons" in Provence (South-Eastern France). In a traditional Provençal crèche, there are 55 individual 'santons' (=little saint) representing various characters from Provençal village life such as the scissors grinder, the fishwife, the blind man, and the chestnut seller and of course the Wise Men. via my Facebook page www.facebook.com/mamaisonalafrancaiseoldstonesngardens #creche #crechedenoel #nativity #mangers #bretagne #christmas #homesweethome #maison #brittany #noel #santon #aubagne #provence #wreath #home #adventtime #homemade #french #frenchstyle #winter #hiver at Bretagne, France

Here's the Christmas tree! I took my red ornaments out of their box this year and mixed them with old brown baubles that have slept long enough in the attic too... Happy to find some colour again this year. 😘🎄⛸️🛷❄️🦌 via my Facebook page www.facebook.com/mamaisonalafrancaiseoldstonesngardens #christmastree #christmas #baubles #garland #angel #homesweethome #maison #brittany #bretagne #noel #wreath #iceskate #ski #candles #rockinghorse #home #adventtime #homemade #french #frenchstyle #winter #hiver at Bretagne, France
