Closing out this week's GuestGrammer, @ben.m.west , we thought we'd add some winter excitement to the mix! ❄️ . "Born and raised in Richmond Hill, Ontario, I got into skiing in grade 9 after watching Warren Miller's "Cold Fusion." I quickly grew tired of the small hills out east however, and yearned to ski the mountains that had inspired me to take up skiing in the first place. Sometimes in moments such as this one, I look out at the mountains around me and think "I have arrived." " ~ @ben.m.west . . A huge thank you to @ben.m.west for sharing his stunning adventures with us through pictures and words. Be sure to check out his work! #FindingAwesome #KootRocks #ExploreBC #ExploreCanada at Retallack, British Columbia

"There are many retired forest fire lookouts spread out across the mountain tops of the Kootenays. Some have been restored and are left open as shelters for hikers, some have been turned into museums, and others have been simply boarded up and await their fate. Thanks to their incredible vantage points and interesting architecture, they've become a recent passion of mine for exploring. The worst part about waking up for sunrise when you're camped high on a mountain top is getting out of your tent. No need to get out of your tent when you're sleeping in one of these cozy little buildings with 360 degree windows!" ~ @ben.m.west . . Cozy building > Freezing tent. GuestGrammer week is back! πŸ™ŒπŸΌFor this month, we would like to introduce @ben.m.west of Nelson! . "My favourite hike close to Nelson has to be up to the summit of Toad Mountain. The Bonnington, Nelson, Valhalla, and Kokanee Ranges of the Selkirk Mountains surround you on all sides and there's nothing like that moment before dawn when the sky is still dark, yet that band of orange light spreads along the horizon, giving you a glimpse into the coming day while the valley below you sleeps." ~ @ben.m.west . . Isn't this shot amazing!? #FindingAwesome #KootRocks #ExploreBC #ExploreCanada at Nelson, British Columbia

"To capture a parent sharing their own love of the natural world by displaying an active pursuit of adventure in and among it is like nothing else. Showing and sharing with our children that these outdoor activities move far beyond being simple hobbies in our free time but embody a way of living, being, thinking and feeling that applies to all aspects of our lives." ~ words and stunning photo by @katielangmuirphoto πŸ” . . . Kootenay folks embracing the long awaited rainfall πŸ’¦. A beautiful way to spend a very wet morning on the river! . . . Great shot by @e21 - these two weren't afraid of a little rain. Hopefully the fish weren't either! 🎣 #TheRealStoke #KootRocks #ExploreBC #ExploreCanada . As you may know, areas of British Columbia are currently dealing with wildfires.
