Injury <> Recovery | Broken <> Mended | Weak <> Strong | Doubt <> Faith ||| We have individual bodies and individual processes, but we can learn from each other. I was strong and confident and climbing well, and then I hurt my shoulder to the point that the surgeons said surgery. But, isn’t that what they’re supposed to say? Thankfully @esthersmithdpt/ @grassroots_physical_therapy and @wlanglin/ @tensionclimbing helped me make sense of my situation and rise from the ashes, and actually become stronger and better than I was before. This begs many questions, foremost — If I hadn’t gotten injured, would I ever have improved past where I was?... Injury doesn’t have to be and endpoint. It can be a starting point, a chance to reconsider everything, and make valuable changes. Progression of any kind, including healing, takes time. It’s best to be patient, and go step by step, moment by moment. A detailed and extended story is live right now via @blackdiamond, and it’s called The Knowledge Quest. Link in bio. It’s comprehensive and rich with valuable information about anatomy, body mechanics, and training. Massive thanks to Esther and Will. Holler at us with thoughts, comments, or questions. If you’re on a high, keep pushing, but remember nothing good lasts forever. If you’re at a low, remember this too shall pass, and it will not always be this way. Be where you are. Be here now. Bless. Mallorca, Spain 2007. @boonespeed photo. Deep water soloing. Crazy wisdom. Heading for more now with the team: @boonespeed @cbaileyspeed @mikecall @chris_sharma ||| “It is truly a great cosmic paradox that one of the best teachers in all of life turns out to be death. No person or situation could ever teach you as much as death has to teach you. While someone could tell you that you are not your body, death shows you. While someone could remind you of the insignificance of the things you cling to, death takes them all away in a second. While people can teach you that men and women of all races are equal and that there is no difference between the rich and the poor, death instantly makes us all the same. ~ The question is, are you going to wait until that last moment to let death be your teacher? The mere possibility of death has the power to teach us at any moment. A wise person realizes that at any moment they may breathe out, and the breath may not come back in. It could happen any time, in any place, and your last breath is gone. You have to learn from this. A wise being completely and totally embraces the reality, the inevitability, and the unpredictability of death.” — Untethered Soul p. 157 ||| @thenorthface @blackdiamond @scarpana @bluewaterropes @frictionlabs @gnarlynutrition at Mallorca

Mark Twain famously said, “Too much of anything is bad, but too much good whiskey is barely enough.” And Jess Graber, a distiller since 1972 and founder of @tincupwhiskey, followed suit with, "Life is too short to drink bad whiskey." ///\\\ Not only is mountain living and exploration vital to the brand, but so is the camaraderie shared among friends. I'll always remember this experience with @tincupwhiskey and the bonds we forged along the way. ///\\\ These are more images from roaming the Chilean mountains above Santiago. I hope the background and images pique your interest to search out your own adventure and celebrate with @tincupwhiskey. It's easy drinking and easy sharing. #MountainWhiskey #Ad Crew: @renan_ozturk, @max.lowe, @shayd_johnson, @nathanielatakora, @isaacsjohnston at Santiago, Chile
