📷: @flotodiary "After three hours walking through the cold and stormy weather of Faroe Islands, I finally reached this awesome place. This is a place I've always dreamed of seeing live once. As I often do when I try to get the perfect shot, I waited for hours looking at this massive sea stack and waiting for the optimal weather conditions for this photo. Probably a day I will never forget." | a7 III | 24-70mm f/2.8 GM | f8 | 20 sec | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Faroe Islands

We are currently in Japan with the #AlphaCollective exploring Tokyo and Kyoto's streets and culture. Here's a view of the Tokyo Skytree captured by photographer @dane.isaac taken during day one of our trip 👉 “The first 24 hours in Tokyo have been non-stop action. This image was taken right after experiencing the insane views from the Tokyo Skytree. I wanted to take an image that expressed my state of being. The feeling of my creativity resorting, the itch to create; feeling born again like the spring. In this scene, I framed the upper part of the Sky Tree with the petals of the plum blossoms. I wanted to have the color of the blossoms fill the frame in the foreground with not much detail.” | a7R III | 85mm f1.4 GM | f2.5 | 1/4000 | ISO 320 | • • We will be sharing here throughout the week, so be sure to check out our page, Instagram Story, and hashtag #AICdoesJapan to follow along! #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Tokyo, Japan

📷: @mardimar "Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. This image was taken during sunrise at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Oregon and conditions couldn't have been more perfect for a crisp Spring morning. Creating an image that takes the person's eyes from the bottom of the photo, stopping occasionally to take in the details, and continuing throughout the frame is something that I strive for when capturing a photo. In this scene, getting low and using my telephoto lens to bring in the Mt. Hood along with the beauty of the tulips in front of me was exactly how I wanted to tell the story. Glad I am able to bring my vision of Spring to life and to share it with others." | a7R II | 70-200 f4 G | 192mm | f10 | 1/30 | ISO 125 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival

Photographer @spacebypixel shares this fresh perspective of The Three Sisters in Alberta, Canada ⛰ "Sometimes the best images I have taken were captured on days where I was very hesitant on even going out to shoot. This morning, in particular, was very gloomy and didn't look worth pursuing. My group insisted we head out because it was our last day. Need less to say, I was not disappointed." | #SonyAlpha a7R III | 70-200mm F2.8 GM | 200mm | F2.8 | 1/1000 | ISO 400 | #AlphaCollective #BeAlpha at The Three Sisters (Alberta)

Got weekend plans? This shot from #AlphaCollective member @vincelimphoto makes us want to go on a road trip this weekend 🚙💨 "The most important part of an adventure is the journey to get there. I spotted this beautiful VW van on the west side of Oahu at sunset and knew I had to take a photo of it. The people in there were laughing and having a great time after a successful day of surfing. As the sky erupted in color, all I could think about were my previous adventures with friends, family, and loved ones." | a7R II | 24-70mm f2.8 GM | 24mm | f3.2 | 1/100 | ISO 100 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Oahu, Hawaii

Photographer @trystane shares this shot from Bangkok, Thailand taken with the #SonyAlpha a7R III. Put your “👋🏽” below if you've been here before! • • "I got this shot on my second sunrise - The first sunrise was not good enough and there were too many tourists so I had to come back. Visiting the same place twice is like watching a movie for the second time, you will always find something new." | a7R III | 16-35 GM | 16mm | f6.3 | 1/125 | ISO 100 | #BeAlpha at Bangkok, Thailand

A few of our favorite recent shots from photographer @mmeyers76, who has just joined our Alpha Imaging Collective ( #AlphaCollective)! Here's a little background on how he got into photography 👉🏽 "After an extensive journey as a writer/creative director in the ad industry, I found photography and was hooked immediately. I loved how it completely changes the way you look at the world - you notice so many things you missed before. And it’s exposed me to countless experiences and opened up opportunities to explore and connect with people I otherwise would likely have never met. I’m always stoked to see where the next adventure takes me, and could not be more excited and honored to be joining the Alpha Collective." #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Monument Valley

A couple selects from portrait photographer and #AlphaCollective member @ashleyinwanderland, who was one of the lucky few to get their hands on Sony’s all-new 135mm f1.8 G Master lens before it launched. “Sony’s new 135mm F1.8 G Master is any portrait photographers dream lens. The focal length provides incredible depth to make all your subjects stand out while creating a silky smooth background with insane bokeh. It’s a must-have!” | a9 | 135mm f1.8 GM | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha • • The 135mm f1.8 G Master lens was just tested by Roger Cicala from @LensRentals, one of the industry’s leading experts on lens design and quality. The results speak for themselves… “This is the sharpest lens we’ve tested. Period. (At last count, that’s out of 300+ lenses tested.)” Check out our LINK IN BIO now for the full review on this bad boy. at Oregon

Super bloom in full effect captured by #AlphaCollective member @stanmoniz 🔥 "Capturing a super bloom entirely in focus can be quite tricky sometimes. The way I go about that is something called focus stacking. This is where you focus on the very foreground snap a photo and refocus on the background and do the same. You then take the images into Photoshop and merge them by doing a median blend. This will give you the best results possible." | a7R III | 20mm | f11 | 1/100 | ISO 400 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Lake Elsinore, California

Photographer and #SonyAlphaFemale @rachel_jones_ross shares this insanely dreamy shot taken during her #100NightsUnderTheStars project. “The night sky has always held a special allure for me. There is something magical about photographing things that the eye cannot see. I also feel like those quiet moments under the stars, whether I’m alone or in the company of others, are the moments I learn the most about myself, my companions, and the world around me. This year I have embarked on a quest to spend 100 nights under the stars. You can follow my adventures at #100NightsUnderTheStars and happy #InternationalWomensDay!” | a #SonyAlpha 7R III | 24mm f/1.4 G Master | Sky: f/1.4, 5 sec, ISO 3200 | Foreground: f/11, 5 minutes, ISO 400 | focus stacked | #BeAlpha #IWD at Superstition Mountains

Today, on #InternationalWomensDay, we are celebrating all the women in our community who continue to inspire us on a day-to-day basis. Here’s a shot by #SonyAlphaFemale @so.shauna taken above Manhattan’s iconic skyline, who shares what being an Alpha Female is all about 👉🏽 “Being a woman is this day and age is not easy. From being told I should do because it’s what society expects me to do, to being restricted from certain opportunities because it’s “not a woman’s job”. I don’t let any of that hold me back. I keep pushing and work hard to make my dreams come true. Being a woman doesn’t limit me, it empowers me!” | #SonyAlpha a7 III | 24-70mm GM | 59mm | f2.8 | 1/100 | ISO 4000 | • • We are welcoming all the Alpha Females out there to share their work and stories with us today (and all days)! Talented photographer @marshdog_productions shares these dreamy shots filled with various textures and colors. (FYI: yes, this was taken on our planet 😂) Keep swiping to see a pano version 👉🏽 • • “Any time I'm shooting, I always find myself moving around a lot. I don't like the idea of keeping your tripod in one place and getting stuck into one composition. I'm always on the look-out for different lines, textures, random subjects who give a frame perspective as well as anything that catches my eye that can make a photo unique. Death Valley National Park holds a lot of possibilities to explore different approaches to light, texture, and color. One of my favorite places to visit as a photographer... as long as it’s not during the summer.” | a7R III | 70-200mm f2.8 | #SonyAlpha #BeAlpha at Death Valley National Park
